Chef Jim Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 More campaign donations from stoners! Kind of like fan mail from some flounder?
Bob in Mich Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 This article and the underlying study seem to reinforce the idea that cannabinoids help the body to stay in balance. Metabolic syndrome is a name for a group of risk factors that occur together and relate to cardiovascular disease and diabetes. http://www.medicaljane.com/2015/11/17/smoking-marijuana-associated-with-50-lower-chance-of-developing-metabolic-syndrome/ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26548604 From the article The researchers found that 19.5 percent of participants who had never smoked marijuana before met the criteria of having metabolic syndrome. Of those who were former smokers, 17.5 percent had enough of the symptoms of metabolic syndrome. It was those who currently smoked weed who were found to have the lowest percentage of metabolic syndrome, at just 13.8 percent.
Chef Jim Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Bob, what do you think of this? Only a stoner would detonate a suicide bomb and only kill himself.
Tiberius Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Only a stoner would detonate a suicide bomb and only kill himself. You think a drunk wouldn't? Drunks are ten times worse than stoners, in so many ways
Chef Jim Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 You think a drunk wouldn't? Drunks are ten times worse than stoners, in so many ways No a drunk you have the balls to do it right. A stoner would be too paranoid to get close enough to people to do any damage.
Tiberius Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 No a drunk you have the balls to do it right. A stoner would be too paranoid to get close enough to people to do any damage. Yes, just like they drive automobiles right
Chef Jim Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) Yes, just like they drive automobiles right Exactly. Drunks drive 90 with zero regard for anyone's safery while stoners drive 30 afraid they might hurt someone. I'm glad you finally agree with me. Edited November 19, 2015 by Chef Jim
Nanker Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I heard there's been a rash of alcoholic Muslim suicide bombers recently. It's been all over the media for months. It's a real problem for ISIS, and one they'll have to come to grips with if they want to stay true to their religious beliefs.
Tiberius Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Exactly. Drunks drive 90 with zero regard for anyone's safery while stoners drive 30 afraid they might hurt someone. I'm glad you finally agree with me. And stoners end up not hurting anyone, the drunks...not so much Drunks are a problem, stoners, not so much
Deranged Rhino Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 And stoners end up not hurting anyone, the drunks...not so much Drunks are a problem, stoners, not so much If Gator is suddenly pro stoner, I might need to rethink my position.
4merper4mer Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 You think a drunk wouldn't? Drunks are ten times worse than stoners, in so many ways I am no fan of boozers either, but booze did not take away this guy's drive and allow him to be easily duped into becoming a terrorist. Pot did.
Chef Jim Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 And stoners end up not hurting anyone, the drunks...not so much Drunks are a problem, stoners, not so much They are both a problem.
DC Tom Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 And stoners end up not hurting anyone, the drunks...not so much Not until they start playing their Tom Petty and make everyone else's ears bleed.
Deranged Rhino Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Not until they start playing their Tom Petty and make everyone else's ears bleed. I'm not sure if it's an improvement, but the millennial stoners these days are more into EDM from what I've witnessed. Though I guess there might be some EDM remixes of Petty's stuff... that might make your head explode though, if not the universe itself.

Wait, what's metabolic syndrome?
Bob in Mich Posted November 20, 2015 Author Posted November 20, 2015 The informed opinion seems to be that alcohol and tobacco are much more dangerous and costly to the individual and to our society. http://www.cheatsheet.com/culture/marijuana-is-much-safer-than-alcohol-and-tobacco-so-stop-asking.html/ From the article While Christie, and the Americans who agree with his attitude toward marijuana, are entitled to their opinions, the repeated yet incorrect mantra espousing the dangers of marijuana is really losing its potency — especially as the federal government itself has even come forward with evidence of actual health benefits from cannabis use. Though many would like to continue to drag the fears exhibited in Reefer Madness into the 21st century, we know that marijuana is generally harmless; in fact, it’s magnitudes safer than other similar substances that are perfectly legal and sold at your nearest 7-11, like tobacco and alcohol.

Those are the Molly/Acid/other random trippy drugs crowd.
