ExiledInIllinois Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Well this is mostly due to Americans being a very high majority of really suck a$$ drivers, but I get your point. Have you factored in the miles per capita we drive in the states vs people per mile. It is a really wide open country and people tend to get a little testy when they have to encounter (let alone share something) another driver on the road.

Yes, there are many complex issues at play here. Can we admit that guns are one of these issues?

No, Really? It doesn't take a Dragnet episode from 1966 to figure this out? Who would have thunk? Good piece on NPR (I know, cringe all you Cons). I have been saying all along, cops need to move from warrior mode to guardian mode.

They don't care. They are not interested in being objective, just pushing an agenda.
What a Tuel Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/07/08/why-america-feels-so-violent-right-now/?tid=a_inl We will just ignore that gun violence is at least at a 5 year low. probably longer. If they can't go after total gun violence, they will go after the subsections of it that rise and fall from year to year. "And mass shootings are up as well. According to Mother Jones’ mass shooting database, year to date, 58 people have been killed this way, nearly five times more than the same time period last year. It’s worth noting though, that Orlando is the sole driver of this effect. Had it not occurred, the number of fatalities would have gone down between the two years." Do you think it's worth noting? Really? Edited July 9, 2016 by What a Tuel
IDBillzFan Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Time to ban trucks. This is totally going to skew the Mother Jones Mass Truck Killing database.
/dev/null Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Time to ban trucks. Why do people need high capacity vehicles with an automatic transmission?
DC Tom Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Why do people need high capacity vehicles with an automatic transmission? The New York Assembly is already drafting legislation to limit gas tanks on commercial vehicles to 8 gallons, and defining "assault truck" as any truck having one of the following features: - Power steering - Exhaust shrouds - A tow hitch - Three-point seat belts - Fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror. - A pistol grip conspicuously protruding from the steering column.

Mocking liberal policies never, ever gets old.

In all seriousness looks like the front bumper was modified with some kind of a scoop to maximize the carnage.
DC Tom Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 In all seriousness looks like the front bumper was modified with some kind of a scoop to maximize the carnage. Or the front end got beat to **** hitting all those people. An unmodified truck would do more than enough damage, and be less hassle. Seriously...photo analysis is hard. I've tried it with WWII recon photos and footage (a subject I have a certain expertise in), and even when you know what you're looking at it's still damned difficult to see things you know are there. Never assume that anything you're seeing in a picture is really what it looks like.

You forgot truck nuts
DC Tom Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Close the car show loophole. Require steering wheel locks on all vehi- oh, wait. Never mind. Require a background check and 5 day waiting period to buy gasoline!
Joe Miner Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 You forgot truck nuts What about a pissing Calvin decal?
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 They need to close the "auto show" loophole. A bunch of pages back where I made the comment about a 6000lb SUV being as dangerous as a gun, well they are. Its the human intent that needs to be stopped. Anything else is just a tool to accomplish their evil desires.
