Metal Man Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Sad news. For me he was definitely one of the blues guitarist greats In the old amphitheater? There definitely was one in the old concert area. One hell of a show from what I heard from my father. I unfortunately missed that one even though I grew up right down the street.

I unfortunately missed that one even though I grew up right down the street. I was at that one. It got rained out the night before so SRV played the following night. Great show. Maybe the best one I ever attended.

Chef Jim Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 RIP Johnny. Blues = best music out there and he was an icon for my generation.
Azalin Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 this completely ruined my day. I've been a huge fans of his for decades, and count him as one of my greatest inspirations in learning to play. I was lucky enough to see him live at least 8 or 9 times, and his shows were always incredible, his playing always amazing. this is so sad to me, more than I am able to articulate. rest in peace, and thank you for all the incredible music, and for the inspiration you've been to me over the last 40+ years.
