The unidentified driver of the transport vehicle immediately knew that the malfunction occurred and returned to retrieve the corpse and the gurney with the help of a bystander “in a matter of moments,” according to the release.

Under normal circumstances (those that don't involve stretchers with corpses falling out of vehicles) why would there be a need for strapping a corpse onto the stretcher with so many straps?

Have you seen any zombie flicks?

Don't the zombies end up flexing and busting all the straps anyway??

No. They usually don't strap the bodies down then while they are transporting the bodies they "wake up", bite the unfortunate driver and the zombie apocalypse begins.

Are those the same movies where the scared girl is along and runs upstairs and locks herself in the room with no windows in an effort to safe herself- ultimately setting herself up for an easy demise?

it's because the ACSA (amalgamated corpse-strappers of america) is a very powerful union, demanding no less than 3 straps per every 100 lbs of corpse carried in a motor vehicle. they're even worse when it comes to flying a corpse on a plane or air-lifting one via helicopter. they're also the reason why you never see traditional Viking pyre ships used in the US anymore.

I knew it had something to do with unions! Thanks for the info.
