Modern Day Censorship

Recommended Posts

Only the right wing would yell censorship over a book that is number theee on a best sellers list. Looking for victimhood anywhere they can only feel it. Just amazing!

LOL! A book that's number three is obviously selling well, therefore the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from it being pulled is censorship. Only a left wing nut would claim otherwise. And the left has looking for victimhood down to a science.

wish there were a costco near me. seems a very responsible corporate citzen. censorship? give me a break. is hobby lobby engaging in censorship because they don't sell pornoigraphic magazines?

Considering Hobby Lobby doesn't sell magazines, no.

But if they did, and refused to sell them...it's their right. It's Costco's right to sell what they'd like as well. I don't know if that would rise to the level of "censorship."

I do know, however, that if a Christian bookstore that donated to a Republican president refused to sell LBGT publications, you'd be solidly in the crowd hypocritically yelling "censorship!"

I'm not sure it's censorship but it's different to refuse to sell something (pornography for exampe) than to pull something off the shelves that at one point was fine. What prompted them to change?

For me, enough reason would be the realization of "Wait, THAT guy? That cotton-pickin' moron's a total nut-job! We don't sell crazy here, that's what Sam's Club is for."

I've always thought it unwise for retailers, businesses, and celebrities to openly take up political causes, especially ones that are tied to one party or another. they absolutely have the right to do so, but they risk alienating a good portion of people that would otherwise be customers or fans. it also adds fuel to the opposition, in this case handing a perceived victory to the opposition now that Costco is putting the book back on their shelves.

You just need to know how to ask for them. Try it, go in and ask a cashier for the latest issue of "Grandmas knitting sweaters"

I think you meant "Dell Help Desk"
