YoloinOhio Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Pat Kirwan (CBS Sports) believes he has identified 13 area where roster depth is key in building a successful NFL team: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/pat-kirwan/24593759/roster-depth-is-a-key-to-championships-so-its-no-surprise-seattle-has-it Buffalo Rumblings broke down the Bills roster in these areas.... we know they have more depth than in previous years but do they have it in the most important places? http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-discussion/2014/6/23/5834306/buffalo-bills-depth-2014-backup-qb-nickel-cb I think TE and G could be an issue if the starters go down, depending on how many they keep.
Luxy312 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Excellent articles Yolo. As I posted in another string, I'm concerned right now with the TE position. Lots of guys on our roster appear to be injury prone there and they could be left very thin, very early. There's certainly more depth than in the past, but just how much more is the question.

A good special teamer that can also play a "real" position? Who is that?
KollegeStudnet Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I think the Bills brass talked about the TE position recently and how they would like to entertain adding more depth.
chris heff Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Good articles, the guard/center situation is not good. With TE there is at least a chance.
YoloinOhio Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Regarding TE - I think they may keep Lee Smith because he is the best blocker out of the TEs and they want to run the ball so much. Unfortunately, he adds nothing to the passing game if Chandler should get hurt so I don't see him as quality depth at that position. I think Gragg is nice prospect but not sure if he is starting caliber. Moeaki is a nice player but I can't bring myself to count him as I feel like any day now he is destined for the IR. If Chandler stays healthy I think he complements the WR corp nicely - not an overwhelming option but can cause issues for the defense if they are focused on all the other guys. He just doesn't pose a threat in the red zone.
voodoo poonani Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I still worry about the safety position. I had no idea Adrian Wilson was still available until Chicago signed him today.

snamsnoops Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 He's 34 and missed all of last season with an injury... But but but I have heard of him!!!!!!. Kidding aside, wasn't he with Zona when Trenative got his bell rung. He was doing pretty good that year til said hit!

I do like Lee Smith as a tenacious football player for the Bills edit also Gragg ? Moeaki is going to split reps with Chandler evenly by the middle of the season. I am going to miss Frank if we keep 4 RBs. I do like Franks game. you cant keep 4 rbs and 4 TE with six WRs can you ? Edited June 24, 2014 by 3rdand12
