GG Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 As Greg says, it's her dynastic family name, not her gender. But even if it weren't, what would be the point of engaging in misogyny? That sort of nonsense always weakens the argument of the one making it. Your second point is more correct. The main reason she's the front runner is that Dems are not putting up a solid candidate to challenge her, and her gender is a major part of that calculation. But the bigger point stands, she's a horrible candidate, no matter what her sex is.

The main reason she's the front runner is that Dems are not putting up a solid candidate to challenge her, and her gender is a major part of that calculation. But the bigger point stands, she's a horrible candidate, no matter what her sex is. Her resume is linked to her name, not her vagina. (Though I won't pretend as though Dem's won't try to leverage her sex in the same way the leveraged President Obama's race.) She has served as a US Senator, Secratary of State, as was First Lady to one of the most popular Presidents in modern history. She has a massive political network, both domestic and international, and is one of few politicians who can raise upwards of a billion dollars in campaign finance. If her name were Hillary Smith, she wouldn't be the Democratic front-runner.
DC Tom Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Her resume is linked to her name, not her vagina. (Though I won't pretend as though Dem's won't try to leverage her sex in the same way the leveraged President Obama's race.) Her popularity is linked to her vagina, though. If her name were Hilary Clinton, she wouldn't be the Democratic front-runner either. There are many things wrong with Hillary's candidacy. But focusing on the van gives her plenty of ammo that her critics are being petty. The van's a valid campaign issue as long as Mitt Romney has a horse. Seriously...Mitt Romney owns a horse, and is out of touch with the American people. Hillary Clinton, easily the MOST insular person in the United States in the past 20 years (what with being the First Lady, having a Secret Service escort with her everywhere after being First Lady, being a carpet-bagging senator, then being the Secretary of State, with their attendant security being added to the Secret Service's), feels the pain of the hoi polloi? Yeah, the van's not the issue. The van illustrates the issue - issues, plural, actually. Her isolation from the American people she claims to understand, her wanton hypocrisy in making that claim, and the Democratic Party's and several media outlets' wanton hypocrisy in the blatant double-standard they apply.
Dante Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It's ultimately not hard to refrain because the more your refrain, the easier it becomes to refrain simply because you can suddenly hear the pure stupidity frustration and hatred of those who can not refrain. It's a bit like giving up smoking. It's not until you quit smoking that you realize how disgusting you used to smell.

No, it's perceived by everyone around you who is capable of refraining as childish and stupid.

What are you talking about? She went to Chipotle! CHIPOTLE, DAMMIT! And they didn't even know it was her. She's just a regular American...broke, confused, and getting her own fast food on a tray.
reddogblitz Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 She's just a regular American...broke, confused, and getting her own fast food on a tray. I read in the paper yesterday she even carried her own tray! Maybe its just me, but I think when you make speeches to Goldman Saks for a cool quarter mil, you have forfeited you "ordinary American" card.

The best part was how she did this, and then her girlfriend Huma apparently called the Chipotle to tell them that Hillary was just in there. Embarrassing stuff for someone who is supposed to be seasoned.

Again, any Dem that votes for her will have to hold his/her nose when doing so.
Magox Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Can she be any phonier? Seriously, if you are a Democrat you've got to be concerned with how poorly they have been projecting Hillary. I'm sure there are some supporters that are sweating bullets right about now.
Dante Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 No, it's perceived by everyone around you who is capable of refraining as childish and stupid. I like to think of it as more therapeutic. Venting. Perceive it how you will.
TakeYouToTasker Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) I like to think of it as more therapeutic. Venting. Perceive it how you will. That's great. Unfortunately for you, you don't get to choose how the rest of the world perceives you, so if you're comfortable drawing comparisons to a right wing Rachel Maddow, only with more impotent rage, by all means go for it. Just know that people like you weaken every single legitimate argument people who are able to conduct themselves like adults make with your childishness. Congratulations. You are coming dangerously close to becoming the knuckle dragger that I am with that one. At least I don't toss personal insults at board members. That's because I have a level of respect(albeit different) for all the people here. Politico's raping our country? Not so much but I am repeating myself as I go down this rabbit hole. AGAIN!

I'm simply explaining to you how you come across to others. That's not an insult, that's a hard truth, related entirely to your posting.
