Doug Flutie Band Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) http://www.cbssports...2014-nba-finals One argument I hear about changing the name Redskins is "Indians don't even really mind the name!". Hopefully an Indian nation paying out of pocket to put an ad on national television can squelch this misinformation. I can't wait to hear what the Janelle Ambrosia fan club around here has to say about the ad... Edited June 10, 2014 by Doug Flutie Band
boyst Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Oh boy, this needed another thread and more attention!
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I finally made it in one of these! :-) LoL...
Campy Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 That's a pretty powerful ad. If I'm Snyder, I keep the colors and the logo and call the team the Washington Warriors.
eme123 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 The NCIA should really put its money where its mouth is by convincing its members to stop watching/supporting the NFL. My guess is they know most american indians aren't willing to take it that far. It is also quite comical that the two indian nations speaking out about the Redskins name are located in California and New York. Both states where commercial casinos are prohibited. Both states with liberal back bones. There is a lot to gain politically by turning up the heat on a questionable entity like the nfl.
Rocky Landing Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Hard to argue with that. I'm really not sure why anyone would.

Yeah that, and it's a really, really terrible thing to call a Native American person. Wake up buddy.

bisonbrigade Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) The Logo was designed by native Americans. It nice to see that Obamacare is working great, Bengasi is a myth, the 5 terrorists released gave there lives to Christ, and the southern US border is secure so we can move onto more important things. How about changing there name to the Washington Reds as most Democrats pushing this are really communists. Edited June 11, 2014 by bisonbrigade

NoSaint Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) It's a shame this always devolves into "stupid right wing bigots" against "whiny liberal know it alls." I get fans like having history and tradition and the team likely thinks it's more profitable. I get that many Native Americans don't care or even like it. I get that there are a lot of people, including native Americans, that do not feel comfortable about it. Just as Snyder is allowed to name his team, those that don't like the name have the right to pressure him to change it. I happen to think that the courteous thing to do is change the name - I don't think there's a reason to talk about fox news or obamacare here. Edited June 11, 2014 by NoSaint

NoSaint Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) As a whiney liberal know it all, I find your post highly offensive. Feel free to try to make me care! It's the beauty of you having the rights you do! I'll probably trot out some republicans claiming to be democrats to say you don't represent them and cite that 99.9% of your kind don't really care what I say! I still think my favorite twist was when the redskins got that random guy to claim he was a tribal leader in Alaska and all his people loved the team.... And really he was like a quarter Native American and a mechanic in Baltimore. Edited June 11, 2014 by NoSaint
Bills fan since 87 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Wow. Pretty powerful stuff....it's a matter of time
Dr. Fong Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 You'd think the money used for this commercial would be better spent helping those in need in the Native American community.

"Logo was designed by native Americans" I appreciate when people start out by stating a lie as fact. It saves us all the time of having to read the rest of their nonsense.
