3rdnlng
Like the old song says: .... There it is From your link: LUBBOCK, Texas—An illegal immigrant who was released by U.S. authorities with a Notice to Appear has been arrested for the alleged murder of a woman and kidnapping of children on U.S. soil. The alleged crimes occurred after the man was released. The man, Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, entered the U.S. illegally with children and turned himself in to U.S. Border Patrol agents. He was processed and released, as are all illegal immigrants who come as unaccompanied minors or incomplete family units from Central America. The alien is from Honduras. The arrest was first reported by the Associated Press (AP), but Breitbart Texas has exclusively confirmed that the man was part of the Obama Administration’s catch and release policy for family groups from Central America. A U.S. Border Patrol source who spoke with Breitbart Texas on the condition of anonymity provided Breitbart Texas with the alien registration number for the man, and the event number for the man’s apprehension. He was processed in the McAllen station of the U.S. Border Patrol. The alien’s registration number is 202027386. The event number for his apprehension is MCS14061487. The “MCS” designates the McAllen station, the “1406” designates that the man was apprehended in June of 2014. A separate Border Patrol source confirmed that the man was apprehended on June 26, 2014 with two children he claimed were his own. He told U.S. authorities he had family in Metairie, Louisiana. The AP identified the illegal alien as a “suburban New Orleans man” who faces a second-degree murder charge after his girlfriend was found bludgeoned to death in a bathtub in Louisiana. The man was arrested in a Katy, Texas trailer park with three children. It is unclear if they are his or if they are the same children he used to get U.S. authorities to release him with a Notice to Appear. The AP did not inform their readers that the man was an illegal alien.
IDBillzFan
How to buy new voters...$50M at a time. The Obama administration has awarded a $50 million contract to a charitable group to buy a Texas resort hotel and transform it in to a 600 bed facility for juvenile illegal aliens. The beautiful Palm Aire resort and hotel has an indoor Olympic sized pool and an outdoor pool. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV are included in the simply decorated guest rooms. The Palm Aire Hotel and Suites is set to be sold to Baptist Child & Family Services (BCFS) operating under a federal contract, pending local government approval, according to reports from Weslaco, Texas where the hotel is located. Weslaco is a few miles north of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County. The resort hotel for illegal alien children is reportedly the ‘first in the nation’. DC Tom
How to buy new voters...$50M at a time. There is no way the government awards a charity $50M to run a $80/night hotel as a detention center. Something is missing from that story.
3rdnlng
How to buy new voters...$50M at a time. Now that would make for a nice pamphlet to distribute in Central America--"this will be your temporary home while we find your permanent one. BTW, you can throw your schit paper in that thing you are sitting on." I hope DCTom is right but this administration never fails to amaze me. B-Man
Border Security: The Bright, Shining Lie Senator Reid’s delusional statement that the border is secure is manifestly ridiculous, requiring no rebuttal. But the contradictory contention contemporaneously trotted out by amnesty proponents — that the present crisis would’ve been avoided had comprehensive immigration reform (i.e., the Gang of Eight Bill) been passed — benefits from the fact that almost no one has read the monstrous and opaque bill. To members of Congress and the media: Read the bill. The assertion that passage of comprehensive immigration reform would’ve prevented the massive influx of illegal immigrants is a lie wrapped in a sham inside a farce. There is no border security before amnesty in the Gang of Eight bill. It’s an utter mirage. The bill merely requires the DHS Secretary to present a plan to secure the border, and the bill’s enforcement mechanisms are even weaker than security requirements in previous immigration bills. The border-security metrics in the bill invest so much discretion in the DHS Secretary as to be meaningless. As Senator Ted Cruz said to then DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano during last year’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on comprehensive immigration reform, “Madame Secretary, it seems to me that if border security is to be measured by an amorphous, multi-factor, subjective test, that this committee knows to a metaphysical certainty that DHS will conclude that border security is satisfied.” Precisely right. Indeed, even when congress mandated (pursuant to the Secure Border Act of 2006) that 700 miles of double-layered fencing be built along the southwestern border, the requirements were evaded, diluted, and ignored. By last year, only 36–42 miles of double-layered fencing had been erected. More at the link: .

"You gave us a down payment when you freed 600,000 DREAMers from deportation," Gutierrez said. "Now it is time for the president in the United States... [to] free the Mom and Dads of the DREAMers. And to go further. Be broad and expansive and generous." Gutierrez said giving amnesty to 100,000 illegal immigrants was "not expansive" enough, and he called on Obama to give amnesty to "millions of our undocumented," including the parents of illegal immigrant children. As Gutierrez noted, nearly 600,000 DREAMers who met various conditions got temporary work permits and amnesty under DACA, which Obama enacted via executive fiat in 2012. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has said no future grants of temporary amnesty should be awarded as a condition for any border bill. There have been nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant children who have unlawfully entered the country since October of last year. And the number of illegal immigrant children from Central America spiked after Obama enacted DACA even though murder rates in Central American nations declined during the period. Gutierrez said there are 5 million children in the country who are worried that one of their parents will be deported. He said if these illegal immigrant parents are working and are part of their communities, then they should be allowed to stay. He called for visas to be issued to illegal immigrants in the United States and again pressed Obama to "expand" his grants of amnesty.
IDBillzFan
Gutierrez said there are 5 million children in the country who are worried that one of their parents will be deported. It's impossible for me to believe that ANY illegal alien would look around this country and for one single minute think deportation was even a scant possibility. B-Man
The text of Governor Jan Brewer’s press release: “I, along with my fellow governors, today participated in a conference call with the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the Director of the White House Office Intergovernmental Affairs. During the call, it was confirmed what I have long suspected – the Obama administration has specifically chosen to avoid its due diligence and is releasing Unaccompanied Alien Children into the care and custody of so-called ‘sponsors’ — individuals about whom the administration does not check immigration or deportation status. “As a Governor, it’s beyond frustrating that, once again, this administration deliberately neglects its duty to act in a responsible manner and uphold the law. But as a mother, it’s unconscionable that federal officials willingly release children into the permanent custody of people of which little – if anything – is known. “I call on the President Obama and his administration to immediately correct this practice and expedite the removal of illegal aliens to their home country. The American people have had enough. They demand immediate action to return illegal aliens – whether adults or minors – to their countries of origin and secure our border. I am confident voters will hold our elected officials accountable at the ballot box.” Shouldn’t there be some sort of “background check” before taking custody of a unaccompanied alien minor? Dems to chop Obama’s border request Senate Democrats will chop $1 billion from President Obama’s emergency spending request to secure the Texas border but have rejected Republican demands to change legal protections for child immigrants from Central America. Senate Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) told colleagues Tuesday that she will move a bill with $2.7 billion in emergency spending for the border, substantially less than the $3.7 billion requested by Obama, according to Democratic sources.
