Doc Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 IIRC this is the first time that a minority has held the position, or something like that. In a former Confederate state, yes.
/dev/null Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 In a former Confederate state, yes. Don't tell Mary Landreu that a Southern state elected a black man
boyst Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 From the Charlotte Observer and coverage there Russell Schaffer @RussOnPolitics Chuck Todd says #NCsen is looking good for Kay Hagan. Dr. Michael Bitzer @CatawbaPolitics Not surprising by the map starting to show in US Senate race in NC, but really wish we had numbers.
B-Man Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Shelley Moore Capito Picks up West Virginia Senate seat for the Republicans
boyst Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Charlotte Observer sourcing CNN... Tons of money was put in to this state from the outside. So much so that it was amazing to comprehend. Awe, poor Clay. In a debate on TV he could not differentiate the responsibilities of Senate vs. House and what his job would be. #UPDATE: With 20 percent of votes counted, Renee Ellmers leads Clay Aiken in NC 2 by 1,175 votes. B-Man Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Tom Cotton wins in Arkansas for GOP, beating two-term Dem incumbent Mark Pryor .
/dev/null Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Former Senator Evan Byah D-IN on Fox News said that some of his former colleagues aren't happy about the possibility of being in the minority, but are privately looking forward to returning to a deliberative Senate

Rob's House Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 We have a walking, talking vagina in VA named Mark Warner. He's like a caricature of a politician and he talks like a huge pu$$y. He's the incumbent and is supposed to win this thing walking away, but it's tight. I'm not getting my hopes up, but if Ed Gillespie wins I'll be happier than if the Bills beat the Pats*. And the left will have suffered a monumental defeat.

B-Man Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Mike Rounds is the 3rd GOP pickup for the Senate, winning the dems seat in South Dakota .

boyst Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Charlotte Observer@theobserver Only 1,500 votes separate Tillis/Hagan, with more than half of precincts reporting. #ncsen AP: Renee Ellmers beats Clay Aiken for U.S. House, District 2 seat. #ncpol Dr. Michael Bitzer @CatawbaPolitics Now 60% of precincts in: Tillis 48.3% Hagan 47.8 pic.twitter.com/giDDORDbYF Lets go VA. Rob's House Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Don't get your hopes up. Results from the DC suburbs usually come in at the end I'm expecting the loss. A win would be great, but If I were a betting man I'd wager the mortgage on Warner keeping his seat.
Wacka Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Anyone checked in on Gatorman yet? Has he bled out from his slit wrists ?
