2014 Midterms

FInally, Democrats are excited for the mid-terms after the Obama administration announced today that one of the "biggest problems" his administration is now targeting is...patent trolls.

Just in time. Well played, Mr. Obama. Well played.

Democrats haven't been this excited since John Hickenlooper admitted he'd grant clemency to a guy on death row who executed four people Chuck-E-Cheese workers in 1993 if he doesn't get re-elected Colorado governor.

Wendy Davis' campaign is falling apart before your very eyes.

She accuses Abbott -- who is married to a Latina -- of not being able to take a stand on an interracial marriage ban after he gave an off-handed response to an obscure question by the San Antonio Express News. The publication was initially asking about defending gay marriage, but the interracial marriage ban issue came up, Abbott side-stepped the issue, and Wendy Davis...apparently unaware that Abbott is in an interracial marriage...pounced.

So frivolous lawsuits are the biggest problem facing this administration now but tort reform wasn't big enough to include in the ACA?

Just when you thought no one could stoop lower than Wendy Davis, Kay Hagen lowers the bar a few notches.

Pro-Hagan Flier Uses Lynching Image, Warns Of ‘Obama’s Impeachment’ If Democrat Loses.

Smell that....................................its the smell of desperation

Democrats used to use racial fearmongering to get white voters to turn out.

Now they use racial fearmongering to get black voters to turn out.

Not much else has changed. . . .

good lord, they're still pushing net neutrality? I suppose that shouldn't surprise me, despite that it was defeated again only months ago.

It's funny here, but in the real world where many voters take their head out of the sand every 2 or 4 years, this kind of crap is effective unfortunately.

New flier from Georgia Democrats: You must vote in November to … prevent another Ferguson

Krauthammer’s Take: Dems’ Midterm Strategy Is ‘Total Humiliation for Obama. . . and He Can’t Take It’

Democratic candidates want nothing to do with President Obama, and, says Charles Krauthammer, “he can’t take it.”

“This is a guy who six years ago had a worship service at a Denver stadium, being cheered by people while he was behind Greek columns. A few weeks earlier, he had been the hero of 200,000 Germans in Berlin,” Krauthammer observed on Special Report. “Here was a man, as Rich Lowry said earlier, bestriding the world. He was a citizen of the world, the most interesting, most sought-after political rock star on the planet. And now he’s got to hide under his desk until November.”

Statements like the president’s yesterday “pop out” because “this is a total humiliation for him and every once in a while he can’t take it,” Krauthammer said.

Desperate Dems “not ready to accept defeat”

John normally covers pathetic fundraising letters from Democrats, but this one captured my fancy. The first sentence is true; the rest is whimpering:

Dear [X]:

We are completely out of ideas.

After President Clinton emailed you this morning to ask for help, we really thought we would be in a better place.

But we aren’t. The Koch Brothers, Karl Rove, and the other Republican outside groups are spending millions against us. It’s the biggest spending spree of any midterm election EVER. So big — it doesn’t even look like President Clinton’s email can dig us out of this hole.

There is still time, though. Things are rough, but we’re not ready to accept defeat. If we can bring in 5O,OOO donations before tomorrow’s ad buy deadline, we can get back on track. Will you answer President Clinton’s call-to-action today?

Thanks,

DCCC

That’s strange. Isn’t Barack Obama the president?

Gosh, if GOP wins the senate and then wins in 2016 they will control all three branches of government! What changes will be made? The poor will lose they health care I assue the rich will get another tax cut, but what else will they do?

!@#$ things up like they always do. There is very little difference in the ability to govern between the two parties anymore.

I know what they won't do: rely on the news to tell them what's happening in the world.

As long as Google and Amazon exist, continue to be lead by liberals, continue to play politics, and keep spending campaign dollars on this, net neutrality will be the Rasputin of issues. Net neutrality will last longer than Global Warming, IMHO. This thing started in earnest in 2001.

As for the rest? What is Obama's approval today? 41.2%

Given that, and the fine work of Sean Trende I've already posted in this thread, which culminates in this chart:

chart2-3-11.gif

We can expect between 9 and 13 seats going R, with 11 being the most likely outcome.

you're right. the issue will last as long as there is an unregulated internet, or until the technology dies. I just thought it would take a little longer before it was carted out again.

The DSCC has now raised $134.1 million for the cycle, a staggering $30 million more than the NRSC.

Gee.........it doesn't sound like those "progressive" billionaires are getting their money's worth.

BYRON YORK: Who says Obamacare isn’t a major factor in midterms?

“Some Democrats and their advocates in the press believe Obamacare, a year into implementation, is no longer much of a factor in the midterm elections. But no one has told Republican candidates, who are still pounding away at the Affordable Care Act on the stump. And no one has told voters, especially those in states with closely contested Senate races, who regularly place it among the top issues of the campaign.”
