ICanSleepWhenI'mDead Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 MLSE has agreed to start some renovations to BMO Field, but further modifications to allow the Argos to play there are on hold pending receipt of funding from the provincial and federal governments: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/mlse-boss-leiweke-said-organization-not-closing-door-230647375--sow.html In a statement issued Tuesday, the Argos said: "The ongoing discussions between the Toronto Argonauts, MLSE and the potential to play at BMO Field have been a point of conjecture for many months. At this point, we continue to work closely with MLSE on a variety of opportunities and benefits, and look forward to the eventual resolution of the funding challenges that impact their plans to renovate and modify BMO Field." Leiweke said MLSE's purchase of the Argos from owner David Braley was never a condition of the BMO renovation. Leiweke admits the subject has been discussed but isn't a priority. There has been speculation that the NFL might require that the Argos' CFL future be secured before Toronto can get any NFL franchise.
