bbb
Wow - I've only seen the first picture so far. We still have debates on who should have won that Belly Flop contest............The Maryland Crab got some unfair judging! Now I see #3. The most insane thing ever. I think people can still get arrested if I talk about two years before that picture.

ExiledInIllinois
I did Daytona Beach in '85. Damn you, you put "Beach" in there! I was going to say: "Was that the year of the big crash?" ;-) ;-P Tie goes to the guy wearing tube socks. Actually, goofy over-the-calf tube socks are sorta back in style w/teens. Ever notice how the teen trend is to where what their parents wore? What do they do? Raid their parents ill fitting closet? # 29 classic Yeah... What's up w/#4 too? Is that the same guy... Pre-Michael Jordan "baggy shorts" trend. LoL... Check out some cop in #9... Those sideburns were pretty radical for 1986. What? Did he step out of 1974? Oh wait, it was The South and he's authority... LoL
Gordio
Yeah, we went to Panama City in 92, then Cancun in 93 & 94 & for our last year we went to Acapulco. I have to say Mexico had it all over Florida imo. The weather was much nicer, there was a way better girl to guy ratio & there were no drinking laws what so ever. Man I miss those days. BillsPride12
That era was alittle before my time but ive always heard it was a great time to be young. Sometimes I wonder what it woulda been like to party in other eras as ive heard so many great stories from my old man and Uncles over the years. I did Daytona Beach in the early 2000's. Good times

Good times I graduated in 91 from high school & I liked my era but I always say the late 70's to early-mid 80s had to be a better era just for the fact the drinking age was only 18. The pictures from that time always seem like everybody was just out to party & have a good time.
plenzmd1
That era was alittle before my time but ive always heard it was a great time to be young. Sometimes I wonder what it woulda been like to party in other eras as ive heard so many great stories from my old man and Uncles over the years. I did Daytona Beach in the early 2000's. Good times Lauderdale for me in both 84 and 85. It was awesome, the time between the strife of the late 60's and 70s, non of the angst of the 90's....it really was all about "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". I think the main difference from what i see of spring break today is the money. Back then, 90% of us on spring break did not have any....and it did not matter one bit! If you had a personality and wanted to have fun, even a shlub like me could have a great time day and night! Seems today how much money kids have matters a chit ton more. Have though about writing a book about my college days...have had several folks suggest it based on very true stories
IDBillzFan
I was Daytona Beach in 81-82 and Lauderdale in 83. More than my share of time at the Button. I don't recall many bikini contests unless by bikini contest you mean girls in bikini's wearing t-shirts that were hosed down and ultimately torn off. Then yes, I recall bikini contests. The banana-eating contests at the Button were terrific, but the place was a schitthole of countless male bodies throwing around beer that took too long to order in the first place. They had a bikinni contest at Fat Tuesdays in Cancun back in 92 when we were there. Same thing started out with girls in bikini's with t-shirts on that were hosed down. Then the wet t shirts were taken off then some of the girls took their bikinis off. One of the girls started eating the other girls muff right on stage to every guy at the place amazement. Needless to say that girl won the bikini contest & my guess is that she did not have to worry about getting a date for the rest of the week. The banana-eating contests at the Button were terrific, but the place was a schitthole of countless male bodies throwing around beer that took too long to order in the first place. Candy Store had great contests every afternoon involving swimming/chugging of beer that resulted in winning free beer. As we were very good swimmers, and great at chugging beer...no brainers for us! We drove down in a bread truck that one of the guys lived in year round, rigged up our homemade kegerater( the one from our apartment) for the truck. As I mentioned, not many folks had money back then...so having a keg in the back of your truck parked at the beach seemed to work well with the ladies! My buddy still found a way to go through $5 at the Elbo room almost every morning before the $.25 beers moved to $.50. 2nd year we ran out of money, had to friggen day labor for two days to get enough gas money to get home.No cards and no parents to bail us out. Hot working on the side of the rode in Florida coming from PA! Edited May 30, 2014 by plenzmd1
IDBillzFan
Lots of homophobes jerk it to lesbian porn. And a lot of people who like watching football players tongue each other are gay. Are you gay? 2nd year we ran out of money, had to friggen day labor for two days to get enough gas money to get home.No cards and no parents to bail us out. Hot working on the side of the rode in Florida coming from PA! We went down there six to a Jeep, and had barely enough money for gas to return. We figured we would skip eating and drive as far back to Rochester as we could with what we had. Somewhere in S. Carolina (I think...maybe N. Carolina) we passed a car that looked to be on fire. We pulled over to see if help was needed, and an old couple was watching their engine smoking pretty badly. We had a CB, got on the radio, and within minutes an 18-wheeler pulled off, got his fire extinguisher and called for police. He left, police showed up, and the couple gave us $100 for stopping. I can still remember the slice of key lime pie I got when we pulled off the next exit.
