Azalin Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Well, the manager then sued Fogerty for his solo stuff sounding too much like the songs he owned - the ones that Fogerty wrote for CCR! Hahaha I remember that. it was back in the mid-80's. I believe the two songs focused on in that case were Fogerty's new 'The Old Man Down The Road' vs Creedence's 'Run Through The Jungle'.

I believe the two songs focused on in that case were Fogerty's new 'The Old Man Down The Road' vs Creedence's 'Run Through The Jungle'. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right. Luckily, the dbag manager lost this one! And, Fogerty is back singing CCR songs in concert. I"ll be seeing him in August.

Pete Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 http://www.slate.com...tors_picks=true What about the Stooges and MC5? To say Zepp invented hard rock is a fallacy IMO
Beerball Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 What about the Stooges and MC5? To say Zepp invented hard rock is a fallacy IMO Sorry, I have an article.
Pete Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Sorry, I have an article. I dispute the article. My thesis most every genre music invented the past 200 years was created in America Son House, Charlie Patton, Skip James, Robert Johnson wrote the book on blues/rock and roll. Chuck Berry invented rock and roll Detroit invented motown, techno, and punk. Country and Bluegrass. Hiphop MC 5, Stooges invented hard rock. Velvet Underground invented alternative and punk. Jazz was invented Congo Square New Orleans Is Subteranean Homesick Blues the first rap song? Or Rapture by Blondie? Beach Boys were the first to sample. I could go on, but I am short on time. Cheers
truth on hold Posted June 22, 2014 Author Posted June 22, 2014 http://www.slate.com...tors_picks=true Good article, except not so sure about " ” as "best song they’d ever written." Other than the line about having a woman wants to "ball all day", it's a fairly pedestrian track.
