DC Tom
Cops in Pennsylvania can now search your vehicle without a warrant. http://www.pottsmerc...a-warrant-in-pa The slide continues... But they can only do so if they have probable cause - evidence of anything illegal being in the car. Or occurring in the car. Like not wearing your seat belt. 'Cause that would be illegal. 3rdnlng
But they can only do so if they have probable cause - evidence of anything illegal being in the car. Or occurring in the car. Like not wearing your seat belt. 'Cause that would be illegal. See, that's why you should always wear you seat belt. Come to think of it that might make a good premise for a seat belt commercial. Something along the lines of "Always wear your seat belt so you can keep your weed".
3rdnlng
; Here's another one that attacks both the 4th and 2nd: http://www.conservative-daily.com/2014/05/21/federal-court-essentially-nullifies-2nd-and-4th-amendments/ The Second Amendment says that the "right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" and the Fourth Amendment prohibits the police or any government agent from seizing and searching your person or property without just cause or a warrant. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals just essentially negated both of those protections! In a unanimous decision, the Seventh Circuit Court ruled that law enforcement officers are not required to present a warrant or charges before they forcibly enter a person’s home, search it, and begin confiscating residents' firearms as long as they believe it is in their best interests. Stop what you're doing and read that last sentence again… The Seventh Court has ruled that police can violate your 2nd and 4th Amendment rights by breaking into your house and stealing your firearms as long as they believe it is in your "best interest." Azalin
from the article: "According to local news reports, police in Lorain County stopped Gurley and claimed to smell marijuana in the car, giving them probable cause to search the vehicle, which is also legal under Ohio law. The cops found no drugs, but they noticed wires leading to the back of the car. The police eventually uncovered the illegal compartment, which was empty, and arrested Gurley. “Without the hidden compartment law, we would not have had any charges on the suspect,” Lt. Michael Combs of the state highway patrol told WKYC-TV." that's a crock. a cop can just say that he smelled weed, then find an empty compartment in the vehicle and the driver does time for having an 'illegal compartment'? how can anyone but a statist think that something like that is okay? It's okay if your intent is to hide porn. It's only illegal if you intend to hide drugs in there. Which makes it even dumber, if you think about it. If you have a hidden compartment in your car in Ohio, with CA plates, of course you're transporting drugs. Try getting out of that in an Ohio court. The search wasn't the root problem here. The law is completely asinine.

IDBillzFan
Wait... what? Foie gras is illegal in California? Making or selling it is illegal. You can still bring it in from somewhere else. Which is typical of California...we don't want anyone force feeding food to animals, but it's okay if someone else does it and sends it to us. Chef Jim
Wait... what? Foie gras is illegal in California? Yup. I can get it shipped but restaurants can't serve it. Well that place we had dinner at in Sonoma last week. One of the ten (I think ten, I lost count) had it. I asked how he was able to do that. The server just smiled and winked. Chef Jim
It's unethical to cause liver damage to a duck before you kill it and cook it. I've talked to several Chefs that have gone to farms and they say it's not like they used to do it in France where they shove a funnel down their throats. They've said when it's feeding time the ducks come running.
