plenzmd1 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 It better have been easy on kid's day! well, its Buffalo after all, and most threads on game day experience would have you believe that we start em at 8!
jimmy10 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt the PA/sound situation sucked. I was a sound engineer in a former life, so sometimes I'm a little sensitive to a bad sound setup. It was unnecessarily loud, the echo was terrible, and in section 127 at least, we weren't getting a direct line from any of the speakers, so it was ALL echo and unlistenable. I've got to think they'll tweak things by the home opener. Otherwise, ingress and egress are great, and the new restrooms adjacent to the new bar are clean and set up well. So don't p*ss in the sinks, ya rubes.
theesir Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Is the $9 beer a 24 ouncer? Depends, at concessions, for a 16oz it was $9 and at the Beer stands it was 24oz for $9.
eball Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Did anybody buy the seat cushions for the season? If so, were they installed and how did you like them?
jimmy10 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Did anybody buy the seat cushions for the season? If so, were they installed and how did you like them? I saw some installed in my section, but not on my seats, for you see, I am not a candy-ass.
theesir Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Did anybody buy the seat cushions for the season? If so, were they installed and how did you like them? I did. They are pretty thick, but as you are sitting on them they settle down or compress. I honestly felt like they made my seating area feel more cramped. I may appreciate them more in the winter when I don't have to sit on the cold bench, but the fact that they are about an inch narrower than the seat below on both sides, we felt kind of squished. Just to add, they made my seat feel a bit shorter as well since I could not lean all the way back into the seat. The back of the seat cushion thing is about 1/2 and inch to an inch out from the metal back. Edited August 26, 2014 by theesir

But to your point, I bet many will appreciate more of a delineation between seats in the bench areas. I've experienced a fair share of "ass creep" over the years from neighbors moving in on my space.

I've experienced a fair share of "ass creep" over the years from neighbors moving in on my space. I have to wonder if it might be the opposite if the person next to you does not have the cushion as you are sitting raised up a little bit, an inch in from the line of demarcation and the person next to you can "creep" into that inch. The people next to us have the cushions as well so it shouldn't be an issue for us.
MarkAF43 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Did anybody buy the seat cushions for the season? If so, were they installed and how did you like them? People actually sit during games? Seriously though, my section seems to stand the entire game so I didn't see the point in paying the money for them.
LabattBlue Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 In regards to the music "blaring", the Bills must be taking their cue from the Sabres where any stoppage in play and/or during the intermissions the music is ear splitting.
jimmy10 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I would encourage any ST holders to contact their reps with such feedback on the experiences Saturday.
beerme1 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Piling on. I wasn't blown away with the renovations. Didn't really expect to be though. I was expecting lipstick on a pig and that's what it is to me. I was in the Van club and they did nothing there except the TV's are new Samsungs. Well I guess I'm wrong as there was $7 La Nova slices which by the way while expensive, sure as hell were tasty. Wings looked like a joke. The concessions stand was the worst ever but it always is at the first pre season game. A ticket rep apologized and I said I expected it from first time volunteers. She said well there hourly employees now. Oh. Well then that is ridiculous and unacceptable I said. A line four people deep and it's twenty minutes to get your order? To answer earlier questions about sec. 235A that is indeed a suite at the end of the old press box and belongs to the Seneca Niagara Casino. It was a very nice suite. The sound system while always bad, took it to a new level. I thought they were adding new speakers but I think they just turned it way up. WAY UP. I also thought I heard Russ say they were going to show full screen replays on the new big board. Same old crap with different advertisers up there and it is such a waste of viewing area. As always.
LabattBlue Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Just took a ride by the stadium. The bathroom towers are still all black except for down low where there is some signage for "sections". The back of the scoreboard looks awesome though with the stadium name. Not sure if this was mentioned, but the boulders around the new store look really out of place? What is their purpose? If it was a security thing, why not just put some concrete bollards in place?
ET1062 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I stopped at the Bills store today and while it is big, really doesn't have much of a selection, I came home and ordered what I was looking for online. They were still working there pretty hard at the stadium, still a lot of work to finish up.
BMWR100RT Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Lost in the excitement of yesterday is any talk of the new improvements. I didn't get to a preseason game, so it was my first experience. Cal me wondering where 130 million went. That is a lot of money. I sat in section 333 for reference. 1. I noticed the Ralph was seriously missing a lot of fans a kick-off. I had gone in at 11:45 and experienced no real wait, but a guy who sat next to me showed up at 1:20 and said he waited over an hour, as did a few others who straggled in. I believe one of the goals was to reduce fan's wait. They kept saying n the radio to get in early. WTH! 2.The wait was less for concessions. (but 9 bucks for a bud out of a can that took way to long to pour? Doesn't Bud make something better tasting?) 3. I had to use the bathroom twice. Both times the line for the men' room was out the door. (No I didn't P in the sink). 4. The Audio was very improved, but do we need noise every minute? 5. Another improvement was supposed to allow me better phone reception. I could text with a delay, but getting to NFL.com was like logging in to dial up. Is there something I was doing wrong? (Verizon) 6. The new paint looks cool, but again, you would think that for that kind of money, the broken concrete on the ramps walking up and the general look would be better. 7. The scoreboards were good, but the only place to reliably see the down and distance and other stats was at the end of the ribbons. Very small.

Cal me wondering where 130 million went. That is a lot of money. I sat in section 333 for reference. One thing not really mentioned in most reports, are if you go around the back side of the Ralph by the tunnel, there are two new building they built back there. One is for DNC (the concession stands) and the other for Bills Operations. So gone is where you used to be able to stand at the top of the stairs and get autographs from players going to their cars. Even that is fenced off now.
ricojes Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) I had no issues with the bathrooms, section 119/120 (tunnel end zone) first time in a long time that was the case. But I may have just timed it well. I liked the sports bar, I thought it was pretty cool. Go in early to avoid the gate lines and have a beer at the bar. Kind of sucked getting out from my section, it's a pretty good walk to get to the 1st exit from my section as everything is fenced off before that. It's the same distance of course, so no big deal. But at least there was more elbow room. The Bills store is so much better than the old store, but it was incredibly packed, so i can't comment on the merchandise as it was a brief stay... also...I am already sick of seeing people using the spray and squeegee.... TheZone78 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 They still have video boards to install on the gates. I also thought they were going to dress up the towers with graphics and put blue and red ribbons underneath the upper decks to hide the underside concrete?

Took a stadium tour on Saturday and they mentioned they still had a lot of touchup stuff like that to do. The guide even mentioned it would be considered "completed" by the 2015 season.
