B-Man Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 "A Complete Ranking of Saturday Night Live ‘Weekend Update’ Anchors." There have been "17 anchor iterations to sit behind the 'Weekend Update' desk over the years," and I will tell you that Christopher Guest (1984-85) is dead last, at #17. I think that they got #1 right...................surprisingly
KD in CA Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 If you can ignore the glaring (and obviously expected) overrating of anything involving Amy Poehler, the rest of the list is pretty good. Yes, they got #1 right. And kudos for putting Norm Macdonald near the top where he belongs. He was brilliant.

His delivery and complete lack of acting ability always worked for me. To me, that show died once Colin Quinn took over. I was very happy to see him near the bottom of the list.
Chef Jim Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 What that showed me was how long it's been since I actually watched SNL.

Best Player Available Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Nigel Tufnel rocks, his alter ego Christopher Guest on SNL was just something to pass the time.
