birdog1960 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 The electorate will believe what they are told to believe. The fact of the matter is, most people don't want to think to hard; much less do any rigorous evaluation of their personal biases. They'll eat up what what they're told. They'll never hear the retractions. They'll never hear the Harry Reids of the world admit that they lied in order in influence an election. They'll go along to get along, reading Facebook post after Facebook post of regurgitated garbage. They'll identify Carson as a race traitor, and an Uncle Tom, because it's convenient, and fits with their confirmation biases. They already know that black Americans can't succeed on their own, because they don't have the luxury of being white; which is why they need white people's help and pity. So, no. Dr. Ben Carson will not be the next President of the United States. However not because he lacks the merit; but rather because he's the wrong kind of black man, and his success would destroy the broken myths about being black in America that the left has built it's castle on. And the left can't have that. It doesn't matter how they feel about it, the fact of the matter is that their desire to practice medicine was subjugated to their legal obligation to be a soldier. Carson didn't want a soldier's obligation. he's not the wrong kind of black man. he's the wrong man. and he won't be prez. we finally agree.
Chef Jim Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 tasker did. Then quote Tasker. Have you ever once in your life said "I'm sorry, I made a mistake"?
Nanker Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 How about Bill Clinton's "vivid and painful memories of black churches being burned in my own state when I was a child," horseshit. That was a bold faced lie.
birdog1960 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Then quote Tasker. Have you ever once in your life said "I'm sorry, I made a mistake"? you all have opinions that are so homogeneous, I tend to think of most of you as interchangeable. it's almost as if one poster has several personas. How about Bill Clinton's "vivid and painful memories of black churches being burned in my own state when I was a child," horseshit. That was a bold faced lie. well you knewe about it so someone must have reported it. was it wrong for that to be reported?
keepthefaith Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I read it as "I didn't want a military career". Yes
birdog1960 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Yes so why write and speak so publicly and frequently about it? what's the point? is it meant to be just an interesting story? is he a simply name dropper? wow, gen westmoreland, the guy who largely oversaw america's biggest military loss to date! i think not. he had a purpose and it had to do with political aspirations. but it didn't work too well. oops.
Chef Jim Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 you all have opinions that are so homogeneous, I tend to think of most of you as interchangeable. it's almost as if one poster has several personas. Dammit. I knew I should have gone with the $1,000 on this being your response. So !@#$ing predictable.
Doc Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 no he clearly didn't have to be transparent ands open. he clearly wasn't Well, he's got that in common with Barry. What a lie that was, eh? he's not the wrong kind of black man. he's the wrong man. and he won't be prez. we finally agree. He's far more accomplished than Barry was, despite his weird beliefs. There's no reason why he couldn't win the presidency, after the low bar Barry set.

There's no reason why he couldn't win the presidency, after the low bar Barry set. the reason is that he won't get crossover votes and is very unlikely to win any blue states from the last 2 elections. he's far too conservative to win a majority of independents. fortunately, so are many of his fellow repub competitors

He is presently winning in MINNESOTA Minnesota: Carson vs. Clinton KSTP/SurveyUSAKSTP-TV 10/29 - 11/2 Carson - 50 Clinton -- 41 ................Carson +9 It certainly can change a year out..........but your proclamation that he only appeals to the far right is laughable, and certainly is not reflective of current polling.

meazza Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 This is usually the first thing someone writes before they start explaining how they drive a BMW 6 series. Hey birddog may be a prick but that's going too far.
OCinBuffalo Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 and this interview where the good dr explains he chose not to go to west point because he wanted to become a doctor. tell me oc, can one not do pre med at west point? do they not have the necessary science courses offered? do they make you sign something that says you won't pursue a career in medicine after graduation? do they not need physician officers in the military? don't you trouble yourself oc. here's http://www.usma.edu/chemistry/sitepages/medical%20school%20option.aspx the answer. Really. You're still arguing with a West Pointer about F'ing West Point? 2%? You're F'ing dreaming. I guess you've never been lied to by an Army recruiter. At least 3/4 of the Army has, ask them. Jesus Christ read the 1st sentence again. What do the words, "up to" usually mean...in a sales context? How about in the McDonald's Monopoly game? "Up to 10 winners of 10k!". At most maybe 3-5 cadets, not percent, get full rides to medical school after graduation..... (I have a full explanation as to why, if you really want it) For the love of God, enough schit. Please stop using, of all things, Army recruiting...material(nicest way to say it)...to make your point.
OCinBuffalo Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) you're joking. you actually believe someone would pay gatorman to post his opinions on the political sub forum of a football website frequented mostly by knuckle dragging cons with little or no chance of ever voting liberal? sure. makes perfect sense. gator is an astroturfer for the dnc. it's money well spent! highly likely! Hmm. How about we put this into the context of the DNC's recent performance? Or, for that matter the DGA's(D Govs), or the DSC(D Senate)'s? How about the WH political office...that's been expanded beyond all sanity by this administration? Take their now-exposed tactics, massive technical help from Google/Accenture, the billions of dollars they've received...and then consider how massively they've failed, and continue to fail(see Virginia Senate loss-->Gun-Control Based Debacle). It's actually not that much of a stretch to believe that they have contracted one stooge after then next. I mean, what would gator's interview process be like? "Hello gatorman" "Hello Miz Jenkins-Jackson" "Can you tell me your thoughts on man destroying the planet and it's people with his patriarchical urge to feed his greed and dominance, forcing his heteronormative values onto all, and seeking to undermine all the good activist government does for working people?" "Yes...I agree" "Great you're hired. You get $.10 a post. Our women posters get $.15, because they have more needs than you. If that bothers you, blame the Republicans. You may write better posts than others, but, we pay based on need here, and women need more. DId you know we have to pay 4x more for a haricut?" "No, but I would like to know where I should post." "Oh that's up to you. I sugget finding a forum where your posts will do the most good. Just read our Media Matters website each day, and take your cues from that. I've heard sports sites have political debates, that should be easy. Patriarchal knuckle-dragging sports fans don't stand a chance against our talking points. Go get em!" I mean really, is it that hard to believe that one idiot, who sucks at their job and would be a laughing stock here after 3 posts, would hire another idiot and send him here? If Carson suggests a healthy GOP to you, what does Trump's ascendence mean? Trump means a lot more than anybody sees. In fact, I think Trump's entire job is to be the vetter-in-chief. I actually don't think his main goal is to win. It's an option of course. Good businessmen keep options open. But, his behavior seems to be less about winning and more about stirring up the R base, while vetting each R candidate, and killing the "moderates" (he started with Graham, now he's on Bush) Trump is bringing out every single piece of nonsense, for ALMOST every R candidate, while leaving Hillary alone. When it comes time for the general election race...every bad thing will be "old news" = no story. He's "innoculating" every candidate against the low-class stories before the media can use them. Is this because Trump is going to do his job, then get out and endorse Rubio/Cruz? Notice how Trump spent 1 day on Rubio, and has never said a single bad thing about Cruz? Why would Trump leave HIllary alone? Is he actually working to attack Rs on her behalf(doubtful), or, is he purposely leaving the dirt he has for later, when either he, or the eventual candidate, can haul it out, and hit her with it, with no innoculation? There's probably a lot more that "explains" Trump than meets the eye. When you sign up for the military, you're a soldier first. I believe Carson was more interested in being a doctor first. You know what's funny? birdog hell: birdog gets into West Point( ), then graduates in the top 10( ) and earns and takes a med school slot. When he gets out, they order him to the Ordinance Corps and he spends the rest of the time he now owes, ~18 years, creating and testing biological and nanotech weapons, because he can't be a surgeon/specialist...not smart enough. Or, he is, but they don't care, they want him for bio-weapons anyway. After all: this is the Army, and orders are orders. Now he's birdog, the mass muderer. as defined by birdog, the liberal buffoon. But, actually none of that is true: birdog the idiot doesn't realize that his work is used as a deterrent, and actually makes the world safer, because it creates cetainty. Certainty: use bios on us, and we'll use worse ones on you. That's precisely what soldier first, doctor second, means in the Army. It's either that, or they throw him into the Army psychiatry "practice" and he's ordered to study "staring at goats", because: not smart enough to be in Psyops, and he doesn't fit the profile anyway. Meanwhile, Ben Carson, 17 year-old, doesn't know/think about Army doctors. Westmoreland isn't gonna tell him, not when he can put Carson in command of a Tank/Airborne platoon and take pictures! Your posts continue to indicate that all med schools are equal. This seems stupid to me. It's either that or you feel more qualified to make value judgments for Carson on which medical education he should have pursued.......30+ years and 15,000 surgeries later. Why is it that you feel more qualified than Carson to make decisions for Carson?
OCinBuffalo Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 perhaps you are unaware of this: http://www.goarmy.com/amedd/education/hpsp.html./ it's actually available to any qualified applicant which would include west point grads. in addition, west point has their own medicine program. sure, both are competitive but I got one so it can't be too hard, right? You know it's fascinating. Really. I tell you to stop with the Army sales pitch, because it proves nothing, and you go right back to it? Ben Carson had no idea any of this was available, because he made the assumption that West Point...was about being in the Army, and not about being a doctor. Funny how when perhaps everybody, but you, sees a general, they think soldier, and not doctor. What fools. Oh, I'm sorry, is your personal experience instantly disseminated to the minds of all, including 17 year-olds in Detroit? Jeez, I can't imagine why an ignorant, inner city kid, who had no one around him that knew anything about West Point, would make false assumptions after getting nothing more than an elevator pitch about it. That's the real story here: who in all of inner-city Detroit at that time, or now, would know anything about West Point? Do ya think they know about your dopey recruiting station hand outs? No. Now enough with the recruiter's handouts. This website didn't exist in 1969. The reason YOU knew to get a scholarship, and Ben Carson didn't? That tells us far more than anything else, and speaks to his character. He started at -2, while you started at 0.

TH3 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I find the defense of BC funny - this is why I find the GOTP off its rocker - you are defending BC simply because a "liberal" is critical of him - much like a union will stick behind a member no matter how egregious their work habits are...fact is BC is not in anyway how who qualified to be POTUS. Not. Qualified. My question with BC is - why is he running for POTUS - it seems he is a complete narcissist. He seems eminently qualified to help young kids live - why not continue to do that? Instead he stops that - writes a book that he calls himself "Gifted" and goes on speaking tours so he can be adored. Besides his math sucks if he thinks you can store grain in the pyramids....
