BringBackFergy
This could be a tough case to crack. I suppose many of these boys will clam up. Hopefully the cops don't muff it up.
KD in CA
Lol the Cops are investigating. Honestly, WTF? A completely harmless prank the likes of which has been happening forever. Yet in our modern, hyper-sensitive culture it's now a police matter?? Absurd beyond description.

KD in CA
Federal offense to put something in someone's mailbox dontha know. Wouldn't it be considered advertising? I mean, assuming it was a valid offer for a free vagina inspection. Maybe someone is just pissed they didn't apply for a bulk mail permit

Maybe someone is just pissed they didn't apply for a bulk mail permit Even advertising shouldn't be put into a mailbox. Around here they use stickpins to stick the flyer to the outside of the box (wooden frame). I do think that police involvement in this is silly and a waste of their time. Knowingly accessing a "protected computer" without authorization is a federal crime that gets you up to 10 years in prison. And the courts have taken a very broad interpretation of "protected computer" - one definition is a computer that is involved in interstate commerce, but since the internet is geographically distributed, the courts have interpreted "protected computer" as every damn computer and cell phone that can access the internet. And guessing the password is NOT authorization. Quite the opposite - the fact that the machine was password protected, and the password was not provided to the people who hacked it, is legal proof that they weren't authorized users. ExiledInIllinois
Federal offense to put something in someone's mailbox dontha know. Okay Cliff Claven... ;-P ;-P KD is right. Leave it up to USPS to sort it out then... God knows they need the work more. Stop wasting resources @ the school/local level. Let the children know the Postal Inspector is investigating and leave it @ that. All they have to do is get the word out that messing with a mailbox is a federal offence and see if the problem continues.... Jeeze... You know what's disappointing? That it's considered a "major" prank. God, we're so lame these days. Vagina inspections flyers is a gateway to anthrax flyers! We gotta be proactive here! I wonder, what's "disassembling the principal's car and reassembling it on the roof of the school" these days? Class-C felony? No. It leads to a great job as a mechanic for a NASCAR pit crew. Do they even teach shop to these nerds now! Edited May 16, 2014 by ExiledInIllinois
