The Wiz
They're just trying to keep Johnny Flame Out humble. Everyone knows he'll open the regular season as the starter or the Cleveland fans will burn down the Stadium. Well Pettine isn't a dick-around kind of guy but I can see the pressure from the top to play him. They don't need to humble him, they need to bring him down to earth. Cleveland is the perfect place to do that. Their fans are just as critical/if not more than ours. If he is named the started and loses the first two games, I can see fans calling for Hoyer again. K-9
All those character issues and so called worked habits are nothing but BS to cover why you don't like a guy. His own coach said he was the most competitive hardest working guy he has been around. Now he is going to struggle this year not just because he is a rookie but because Cleveland is too stupid to get him some weapons. Jacksonville did it right with Bortles by getting him Marquis Lee and Allen Robinson Bortles won't start his rookie year. He gets a redshirt year behind Henne. Same with Manziel, unless the FO caves to fan pressure when Hoyer struggles, like ALL QBs do from time to time. Worse thing that could happen to Manziel, too. GO BILLS!!! vincec
He's going to be fine. He obviously isn't going to fit everyone's offense but if Kyle Shanahan's is anything like his father's then he's a perfect fit in Cleveland. Mobile QB with a strong arm, high accuracy and excellent competitiveness. That sounds a lot like RGIII, Cutler and Plummer. They are going to use his mobility and play action passing. They will need a running game to make it work however, so that will be key.

It really is a simple proposition. GO BILLS!!!

Should be interesting.

Cynical
Thought JF's family had money? This is not hard to understand. Parents = 2 different families Grandparents = 4 different families Report points to fathers side as being "outlaw". Mom side could have had the money. Cynical
All those character issues and so called worked habits are nothing but BS to cover why you don't like a guy. You mad bro? Pretty ironic Mike Evans got drafted in the top 10, and Johnny did not. You have made some pretty idiotic posts in the past (Williams for Skelton), but are you really trying to suggest the OP created a fake scouting report and posted it on the web just to diss Manziel? You do realize there is positive info in that report? His own coach said he was the most competitive hardest working guy he has been around. And Nick Saban called AJ the best college QB. Period. Let me guess, you believed your mother when she said you were the best looking kid in the whole world. Now he is going to struggle this year not just because he is a rookie but because Cleveland is too stupid to get him some weapons. Jacksonville did it right with Bortles by getting him Marquis Lee and Allen Robinson Accept it. JF was going to struggle regardless where he went. He is a rookie with a massive ego that got away with crap at the collegiate level. If we believe the report as legit, all his "bad" traits are fixable. The biggest issue will be his ego. Having that knocked down a couple of pegs could actually be a good thing. If he is as competitive as you believe, that will motivate him to prove everybody wrong. That means doing the off-season workouts, studying the full playbook, etc.

Buffalo Barbarian
are you really trying to suggest the OP created a fake scouting report and posted it on the web just to diss Manziel? No I'm saying the OP but NE says that because they don't like his style so when you don't like somebody you start looking for stuff to justify your opinions (which everybody does, even the pros). Bortles won't start his rookie year. He gets a redshirt year behind Henne. Same with Manziel, unless the FO caves to fan pressure when Hoyer struggles, like ALL QBs do from time to time. Worse thing that could happen to Manziel, too. GO BILLS!!! That would be best for both of them Edited May 13, 2014 by Buffalo Barbarian

johnwalter
Not sure why this is surprising. The guy is a punk. well its a little surprising given the fact that he completed 70% of his passes for 4,114 yards and 37 touchdowns with an RAT of 173 in his senior season. all in the SEC, no less.
