Alphadawg7 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Lmao at this absurd tweet from McCoy: @BryceBrown_34 my boy it's been fun... Good luck with everything and knowing what they got and knowing what they getting lol starter day 1 Freddy to exception to it and responded: No disrespect to @BryceBrown_34 but @CutonDime25 starter day 1 huh? I think @CJSPILLER and I might wanna bet something on that! #BillsMafia
Fixxxer Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 It was his teammate and wanted to say something nice, that's all.

sodbuster Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Well, Brown does have a checkered past...maybe he goes all gillooly on Freddy & CJ. I'm sure his old teammate desean Jackson has some connections that could help with that.
QB Bills Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 He's just trying to be supportive. This guy can't hold a candle to Spiller. Who himself can't hold a candle to Freddie.
Mikie2times Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 You would have to think at some point age catches up to Freddie. He glides and he didn't get abused as a younger player, that helps, but he's getting very old for RB standards. CJ always seems to get hurt as his touches increase. He's one of the most dynamic players in the game but he has a hard time staying healthy and is at the end of his contract. If anybody remembers Derek Holmes, that's sort of what Brown reminds me of. Sometimes he can get cute, but he runs angry. It's a great compliment to CJ and Freddy for right now as all 3 have different styles. It's also great protection for us, because CJ and Freddy might not even be in the equation in a another year. Brown is starting material and potentially the most viable work horse style back of the 3 both in 2014 and moving forward.
Mikie2times Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Like when the Giants had Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw Ya, I really don't have a problem with this move or even the comments from McCoy. CJ is pure lightning, Freddie is effortless power and grace, Brown is blunt force trauma. CJ and Freddie are great on 3rd down, Brown is not. It really will be a pain in the rear keeping up with these three. All 3 are very different, so slapping a "he's just a back up RB" statement on Brown is a little unfair. His style likely makes it easier for CJ and Freddie as both do for him, past that Brown could play much larger role on this team in 2015.
Reed83HOF Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I don't feel like looking for the tweet, but CJ responded too
enlightener Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 maybe brown knows how to run through a hole. CJ seems to run sideways when theres a hole in front of him, then runs forward when theres nothing there. also maybe brown can break a tackle, something cj hasnt done in two years. hes too busy fumbling.
truth on hold Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) May not be so far fetched, we've been missing a back with the right combination of power and speed, and that can stay healthy. Fred has power, but he's slow (and getting slower); CJ has speed but no power (and he's frequently injured). Brown could be that combo of power, speed and durability we've been lacking Edited May 12, 2014 by Joe_the_6_pack
outsidethebox Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) How much longer until we get the Spiller, Jackson sucks thread and good riddance. I would rather go with a proven commodity like CJ and Freddie than Brown. I never heard of the guy before Saturday. I thought that tweet was very disrespectful. They both have accomplished more than Brown has. I don't hold it against Brown what his dumb ass ex teammate said. Though he isn't making it any easier on him coming to a new team. Insomniac99 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 It was his teammate and wanted to say something nice, that's all. Real smart of him. Call out Bryce's new teammates before he even gets there. Great idea.
HamSandwhich Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Real smart of him. Call out Bryce's new teammates before he even gets there. Great idea. He has no allegiance to the team (McCoy), why would he care?
gjv001 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 If McCoy is right, we have made a move that upgraded our team. Isn't that what the main idea too the Draft, Free agency, and Trades.
GunnerBill Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I think they will use Freddie as more of a 3rd down specialist back this year in terms of actually giving him the ball. He is also still by far the best pass protector of the three. What has frustrated me for two years is the lack of plays where Freddie and CJ are both on the field. Gailey did it a little bit 3 years ago, but with CJ in the slot pretty much as a receiver. Then he hardly did it in his final year and Hackett tried it on like 2 snaps all season last year. I'm a believer in getting your best skill players on the field. Sean Payton often ran plays with two running backs back there when one of them was Sproles. It's not as iff CJ and Fred are the same, they offer different threats. I'm not suggesting you do it as your base offense, but surely it's a nice change up option to keep the defense guessing? Brown, Jackson and Spiller all seem offer different things it would be nice if we could use some imagination to get the best out of all three.
truth on hold Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Lot of things to like about this guy: 1. Speed to get outside on 1st run 2. Footwork on run @ 0:40 3. Agility run starts @ 0:53 4. Sets up blocks run @ @ 1:35 5. Presence to know he wasn't down on run @ 1:50 6. Understated confidence answering question @ 3:19 7. Doesn't shy from hits run @ 2:35 Keeps his eyes down field every run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maJzY6tYzGg Only knock is protecting the ball. If they can solve that, he will help us win ... no doubt. Edited May 12, 2014 by Joe_the_6_pack
CSBill Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 very good pick up, essentially a proven draft pick as the 3rd RB, and future full timer
