WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Here are how low my expectations are at the guard position: Success = Richardson > Colin brown I burst out laughing. But yeah, I feel a hell of a lot better with pears, Williams and Richardson duking it out at guard. With Cyrus likely to start at RT, this is looking like a very, very strong line.
Kelly the Dog Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Definitely think we need a solid OG backup prospect and he is it.
Kirby Jackson Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I think that Richardson starts at LG this year and Cyrus at RT. this leves Pears, Hairston and Williams as their OL depth (IMO). Glenn-Richardson-Wood-Urbik-Kuoandijo That's a pretty good OL.
Chilly Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Solid OG who could end up as a starter. Very good pick.
Not at the table Karlos Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) Anyone that has a problem with this pick didnt watch our team last year Edited May 10, 2014 by kr632
VanCity Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Fan of this move. I had my eye on him for the 3rd rounder. When he was there in the fifth, I was thinking he couldn't be passed up
TC in St. Louis Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 He'll get into shape. Now his livelihood depends upon it. He'll be blocking professional football players instead of college students.
Fixxxer Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Always nice to bring the fat guys. They won't ever be the x-factor in a win but you will lose more than win without them. Question to the experts, I heard his name a lot in pre-draft mocks and fan wishes, why was he available so late in the draft?
Dorkington Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I wanted us to take two OL who could potentially fight for starting spots, and we did. I wanted a play maker WR or TE, and we got one. I wanted depth in the front seven, and we got one. I wanted depth in the secondary, and we got one. I wanted a backup plan for FJ/CJ and we got one. I'm very pleased so far.
Punch Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Didn't Aaron Donald make him look silly at the Senior Bowl? I'm going out of my mind with these picks! Yes, him and dozens of other O-linemen.
maryland-bills-fan Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Marrone played and coached what position for most of his life? 3 big offensive linemen. WOW. I have always liked big uglies.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Great information on Richardson: http://www.bloggingt...yril-richardson
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 In the CBS article linked in the OP, they described him as "terrifying," and an "eraser." A few fans in the comment box wanted him in the 1st round too.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 5/10 Cyril Richardson with Sal Capaccio <2:25>
Dorkington Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I like that he has experience at tackle and guard.
nucci Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Favourate move of the draft so far...love this pick Over getting Watkins?
stevestojan Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Holy hell. If this draft gets graded any lower than a solid A, I'm not sure what to say. Need positions filled, best WR in this class or next... I'm shocked how happy I am with the moves this year.
808 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 he's probably gonna play RG so it'll be glenn-williams-wood-urbik/richardson-kouandjo. i think cyrils run blocking is gonna give him the edge in camp. we will see tho. he is a absolute mauler in run blocking in a uptempo run based O. bills really might run it 40 times a game.
