17 Josh Allen Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Sammy is the man he is a stud wideout In a couple of years we will be talking and comparing him to the all time greats
John Adams Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested?
AltoonaPaBillsFan Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Thanks for the video link! We should feel blessed this young man is in a Bills uni. Can't wait to see him take the field...
BUFFALOTONE Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested? Little known fact: after the arrest his parents moved up to Clemson and he stayed with them for the remainder of his college career. never had an incident after that.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) Thankfully according to former players, there is nothing to do in Buffalo so he wont be as likely to get in trouble /sarcasm CBF Edited May 9, 2014 by Canadian Bills Fan
Campy Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested? On GR this morning he said (paraphrasing) that after having some success he got cocky and lazy. He stopped doing the things that got him to where he was. After reflecting on it, he realized a couple of areas where he needed to focus to get back to where he wanted to be and credited that experience for making him the player and man he is today. So he messed up, learned from it, and grew. It's not atypical for 20 year old college kid. See: Alonso, Kiko.
The Wiz Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Thankfully according to former players, there is nothing to do in Buffalo so he wont be as likely to get in trouble /sarcasm CBF Just keep him away from Marcell.
K-9 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested? Not in the least. Indeed, it was the way he responded to that event that impressed me most about him. He owned it from the start (even the cops were impressed) and he humbled himself before his family and coaches. And he rededicated himself to his team and sport. There was a great article about him in the 4/28 S.I. magazine. He's cut from a different cloth. GO BILLS!!!
Dragonborn10 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I will take talent over character any day and twice on Sunday.
yungmack Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested? He has fully taken responsibility for going off the rails, said he "got lazy," and seems to have learned from his errors. Isn't that really what "character" means, that we learn from our mistakes, take responsibility, and become a more mature person?
John from Riverside Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 OK so Sammy Watkins is the Kiko Alonzo of this draft

Jup, I'll even go farther, I'd rather have them get in trouble in college (isnt that what college is far anyway) and learn from it than to be knocking over pedestrians with their SUV or claiming to be worth millions etc...
Kellyto83TD Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 He is the entire package. I will call it right now, EJ develops and this kid doesn't get hurt he is a potential HOF WR. This kid may end up being the #1 WR in the NFL if we can get him the ball
Drifter Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I will take talent over character any day and twice on Sunday. Fortunately for us he has both.
zow2 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 You're not concerned that he had a slump after finding success and also got arrested? Kinda' seems like a blessing in disguise that it happened early in his career and he's had time to correct it. The guy realizes his mistakes, learned from it and says it will never happen again. I actually believe him.
Just in Atlanta Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 The step dad is like there's a lot of shootings, drug dealings, violence etc. But he seems most shocked at the prostitution. In all seriousness, he's definitely a playmaker and seems like a great kid.
