bisonbrigade Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 1. Manny Lawson LB, Worked out well in Pettines system but does not have a trues home in the current defense. 2. Jerry Hughes DE, Had a break out year in Pettines defense but is not big enough to play in traditional 4-3. 3. Stevie Johnson WR, Is real good but might be replaced by Mike Williams. Possible trade, How about our 9th pick, Manny Lawson and Jerry Hughes to Cleveland for there 4th pick and take Sammy Watkins. Our our second and fourth round picks plus Stevie Johnson back to Carolina for there 28th pick and take LB Ryan Shazier. Our third round pick take OT Juawan James.
Captain Hindsight Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Why would you want to break up the best pass rush in the league and help a conference rival? Thats 14 sacks you are taking off the team. Remember when we had 26 the entire year? Don't underestimate what a good pass rush does for the rest of your defense.
TPS Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I have to think Stevie is a goner this draft I don't think very many people will be shocked if he's part of a trade.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I don't think very many people will be shocked if he's part of a trade. Man I just don't see people willing to give up a lot for SJ13 after what we witnessed with the cuts and free agents this off season. Stevie could excel with a great QB and close up passing game. I think of Denver... Though no one picking ahead of buffalo would be accused of a Peyton like QB.

Manny Lawson needs to remain on this team, he is great in coverage and good against the run, he is a top tier Sam linebacker...do not suggest trading him! Jerry Hughes maybe

switz1610 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 "1. Manny Lawson LB, Worked out well in Pettines system but does not have a trues home in the current defense." Prior to coming to the Bills, Lawson excelled in the 4-3 in Cincy. To the point where he was considered a better fit as a 4-3 SAM than the 3-4 linebacker/4-3 DE he was projected as coming out of college.

Don't get me wrong they are good players.
FluffHead Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Will people ever realize that the league values picks over players? Lawson and Hughes isn't getting you jack. Cleveland doesn't want our players and their contracts, they want our picks so they can pick their own players. Edited May 7, 2014 by FluffHead
Max997 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Stevie has zero trade value and Lawson prob doesn't have much if any either Hughes at best would bring a 4th round pick but prob not even that Edited May 7, 2014 by Max997
oman128 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Don't forget about our 7th round kicker we drafted last year from FSU, someone needs a kicker, and we're all in love with the newly resigned Carpenter. So our backup kicker could be something to trade. We do need so find a punter, cuz Moorman ain't going to cut it this year. Am I the only one who thinks changing defenses again this year back to a 4-3 doesn't make sense. What if Schwartz get a head coaching job next year or the year after, we change defenses again seems like we're running around in circles chasing our tail. Edited May 7, 2014 by oman128

I hope we can get a 6th or 7th for Hopkins during the draft. Could happen.

Manther Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I hope this is a joke I don't think it is a joke. A team drafts a kicker in the 6th or 7th almost every year. And, Hopkins was the top rated kicker last year. We could trade him potentially.
FluffHead Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 If someone trades an asset for our backup kicker who has never kicked in an nfl regular season game, a kicker who very well may get cut in August, they should be fired.
thewildrabbit Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I have to think Stevie is a goner this draft Perhaps Spiller too. The Bills did bring in 6 RB's for pre draft visits

Let's create an even bigger need at DE by trading away a pass rush specialist and use the pick replace our 3x 1,000 yard slot receiver. Not to mention replacing Lawson with Shazier would only make our run defense worse.
