BRAWNDO Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Jay Skurski from the Buffalo News is reporting that Goodell states the Bills will need a new stadium to remain viable in WNY This explains why things are moving fast on a new stadium front Edited May 7, 2014 by BRAWNDO
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Yeesh, you're brutal. Maybe don't try so hard to take a negative stance on every single topic. That's ICE for you. =P
Canadian Bills Fan Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The location scouts will confine their work to the “Buffalo region” – avoiding Ontario – to develop detailed projections on everything from the number of seats to how to incorporate a new football facility into other economic development projects in a community Best line in the entire article CBF
May Day 10 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 FEW YEARS BACK a design magazine had a"concept" photo of a" Niagara falls stadium" ,i don't remember who sponsored the design ,,. some of the features included luxury boxes that had views both of the game and the falls ,that's what a stuck in my mind .tell me another stadium locale anywhere with a view like that .it was a retractable roof design similiar to tampa but when the roof was opened the upper deck would be also able to view the falls .. IT WAS A CONCEPT IDEA BUT someone paid for it., the land in the falls is ready now, amherst has barely enough room and the roads would be hell on game days. the ralph has limited space for a new stadium unless the take over ECC, doubtful. buffalo waterfront first they have to take down the skyway, the states broke and it would cost another half billion to remove it..like anyone wants that drive on gamedays in january as the main route. the falls is the easiest viable option .the time and location is right ,for anyone from rochester a hour closer ,toronto a hour closer ,,20 minutes from buffalo downtown, closer ,sorry to the southtowners but it is the most likely location imo time will tell ,but when politicians get involved it might wind up in clarence. your post makes me doubt you have ever been to Western New York

Full story upcoming. OK, done deal. New stadium or bust. I would have preferred a RWS renovation, but I think Niagara Falls will ultimately be the pick in an effort to lock in corporate support from Southern Ontario.

3rdand12 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 OK, done deal. New stadium or bust. I would have preferred a RWS renovation, but I think Niagara Falls will ultimately be the pick in an effort to lock in corporate support from Southern Ontario. Agreed .
May Day 10 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I disagree his comments necessarily allude to a new structure, eliminating a large-scale reno,
peterpan Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) What a prime example of stupid government. Do you really need a firm to tell you where a possible stadium could be? Everyone ALREADY KNOWS where one could be. Plus, why is NYS doing this and not the Bills? The NFL makes 9 Billion a year and they cant even look for their own stadium locations? There is no need for this whatsoever. Edited May 7, 2014 by peterpan
3rdand12 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I disagree his comments necessarily allude to a new structure, eliminating a large-scale reno, I would have preffered them continue with the RWS project underway , and then expand on that . But this is bigger than just the stadium . And its politcal .

Rochester is closer to the Ralph than to Niagara Falls. I cannot believe traffic is better to the Falls. To get a nice view of the field and the Falls, maybe the stadium should be on Goat Island. . Dorkington Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I assume, like many new stadiums, it'll require state taxes to pay for it. Hope the rest of NY feels for the Bills like WNY does, heh.
BuffaloBud Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Rochester is closer to the Ralph than to Niagara Falls. Huh?
Bronc24 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I assume, like many new stadiums, it'll require state taxes to pay for it. Hope the rest of NY feels for the Bills like WNY does, heh. I think the full burden should fall on the taxpayers of NYS, if that's what it takes to get 'er done.
Dorkington Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think the full burden should fall on the taxpayers of NYS, if that's what it takes to get 'er done. That requires a vote, usually, no? Would people in NYC give a damn if the Bills get a stadium? I think the answer is no...
Mr. WEO Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I would have preffered them continue with the RWS project underway , and then expand on that . But this is bigger than just the stadium . And its politcal . Best call the young Tony Montana... That requires a vote, usually, no? Would people in NYC give a damn if the Bills get a stadium? I think the answer is no... This isn't California.
Bronc24 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 That requires a vote, usually, no? Would people in NYC give a damn if the Bills get a stadium? I think the answer is no... Sarcasm. I don't even live in the country, let alone the state, so the tax issue is irrelevant to me.
BRAWNDO Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 With Erie County being one of the three parties involved in the new stadium feasibility study, I cannot see them allowing a stadium to be built in Niagara Falls, but I suppose anything is possible. Is it possible the new stadium is built around The First Niagara Center, with relocation of the Perry Housing Projects?
rockpile Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) Google Rochester to Niagara Falls, NY and to RWS. The Ralph is 79 miles, the Falls is 85.8 miles. Drive time is 10 minutes less to RWS. Edited May 7, 2014 by rockpile
