\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I know that everyone on this board is a musical snob so I figured that I would P.O. all of you by giving my review of someone who isn't "hip" enough : Wifey, her sister (my SIL) and myself went down to see him at the Granada Theatre. Dallas Morning News Review: http://www.dallasnew...ada-theater.ece Fort Worth Star Telegram Review: http://www.dfw.com/2...da-theater.html Set List hasn't been posted yet, but here is the set list from Austin (very similar): http://www.setlist.f...x-73c322cd.html Observatiions: Theatre was configured to a club setting, so you had to stand the whole time 75/25 girls to guys If you are a fan of 45-55 y.o. women, you could have walked out of there with some serious tail Because of the crowd mix, they converted the men's room to a ladies' room (and the lines were still long). Guys had to use the upstairs bathroom (normally used for the theatre's offices). Wifey and SIL both brought panties to throw at the stage. About 2 dozen thrown. Tom Jones joked that ladies need to be sure to take off the price tags first LOL. Surprising # of 20-somethings there LOTS of blues songs, as you can tell by the set list Didn't play many of the old favorites that you would think should be played The band was kick-a$$. The 2 lead guitars and the bass were very high up in the mix. I may lose my man card for this, but the guy does know how to put on a show. Voice in great shape, lots of crowd interaction, always moving around the stage, and he belted out EVERY number. Strange to hear "Thunderball" with a guitar lead (no horns), but it worked.
Buftex Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 One of the great singles of all time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIfxBthfFkg

BringBackFergy Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Pics?? (Of your sister in law and the dinner party you had a year ago...we're still waiting)
dhg Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Love TJ. Have seen him a few times although it's been a while (Melody Fair). Guy can still bring it. Always has a band that rocks. I loved the Praise and Blame album, especially Burnin Hell. I would play that one on the jukebox at my local watering hole and for a while I never would tell anyone who it was and they were always surprised it was TJ. Pretty cool performance from Letterman a couple years ago:
