EJ Manuel is going to be offered as a public offering and traded as a stock through fantex under the ticket symbol EJMLL. Initial shares will be $10 a share and this article is an interesting read about how it all works and how it's value is tied to him selling 10% of his career earnings to fantex including any post career broadcasting rights. EJ got around $5 million from fantex for that. Vernon Davis was the first publicly traded athlete apparently and recently went public and is now up to $11.
