Silver: The Clippers must only use white players on the court of Jewish Origin.

You'd think there was a law that required people -- in response to one man's stupid comment -- to come up with as many equally stupid or stupider comments themselves. I saw one idiot suggest they create an all-black league. All black owners, all black coaches, only black players. It wasn't mentioned, but I presume the salary cap will be based on the TV contract with BET and the blacks only gate receipts.

Once again we see American's biggest export in action: days/weeks of outrage over someone making an ignorant comment.

Talking about the possibility of Magic Johnson being the next owner of the Clippers...wouldn't that be something?

Doc Rivers declines a meeting with Sterling... interesting.

Seattle's been trying to steal a team...the commish hates Seattle (he's an ass anyway) but a package had been put together last year, they might just have to reconsider if the group expresses interests. It's a fit even to the stupid 'marine' themed name.

Do you mean that David Stern hated Seattle, or that the new commissioner, Adam Silver hates Seattle? It does seem likely that Seattle will get another team. Sonics should have never left...strong basketball city. Not sure if it would be the Clippers...it seems like LA has proven, at least, it can handle two pro basketball teams. I am not sure the NBA would be inclined toward letting the Clippers leave. The market seems to be there for them.

They're not going to move a team out of LA just because of the owner. There's more money to be made in LA, and charging an expansion fee to Seattle.

I thought this guy was divorced, but he's still married to his wife of 50 years. And he still went around in public with his girlfriend. The wife must have figured let someone else deal with his wrinkly ass and Viagra.

"Several league officials – including owners and Board of Governors members – told Yahoo Sports they believe Silver has been studying the nuclear option on Sterling: a provision in the NBA's bylaws that would allow Silver to summon a vote of league owners to strip Sterling of his ownership. The NBA would run the Clippers until the team could be sold."

What is most sad to me about a story like this is that an ignorant man has to be tarred and feathered instead of educated. When I step back from this and try to think about the situation a few different ways.

One viewpoint is that "Watch what you say and if we don't agree with you, a million people are going to show you how much we hate you." How is that any different than what this man has done? Hate breeds hate I guess

My guess is that the Commish will come out, condemn him, suspend and him and fine him a huge sum of money that will be donated to a local charity. Then eventually after many months of shaming, the team will be sold to Magic Johnson in some sort of poetic justice.

But what really came of all this in the end? One voice grew louder and drove the bigot out? What does that really say about how far the country has come on issues like racism? Or just unpopular opinions?

I guess what the point I'm trying to make is that instead of shoving a pitchfork up somebody's ass when they say something unpopular, we take time to educate rather than simply destroy him/her. For me this goes beyond the many social issues facing our country today (gay marriage, pot, racism, sexism, ect.) and to just unpopular opinions in general. I really hope this country doesn't become a place where if you say the Earth is round, you go to jail.

That said, its clear this guy is a bigot. I'm sure society/ the NBA will handle him appropriately and I won't shed a tear for him.

I like your points of view and I see some of your points. But the guy has been around people of diverse backgrounds for decades owning the Clippers. He shakes hands and socializes. You really think at 80, he's suddenly going to change?

Also, he had a son died of a drug overdose. I can't imagine his parenting (or lack their of) didn't play a part. He's a bad human being. Sad part is he has to sell the Clippers at their most valuable, thanks to dumb luck. He has been one of the worst owners in sports for 90%of his tenure.

Well......they did give them Chris Paul, this was their plan along!!!!

Larry Johnson, AKA Grandmama, is a Knicks executive, has long time said the NBA players are slaves.

He thinks the players should start their own black run league with all black players.

Bet this never gets mainstream.

i don't disagree at all with this guy being a dick. He is and that is very apparent. He should be in hot water

But then I look at events like the whole #cancelcolbert nonsense. The pitchforks were out even before he had a chance to respond. Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty comes to mind too. Again I personally don't also disagree with everyone's reaction to certain issues (Donald Sterling included), my hope is that America doesn't become a single minded nation were only the majority line of thinking or the loudest voice is "right". Disagreement is natural and in some cases should be encouraged. (Not in this case of course)

I'm really commenting on society as a whole, not just this situation.

In this case, you must take the man's entire anthology of bad deeds into consideration. This wasn't a one off. While there are many instances of race-baiters using an issue to stir the collective pot, this isn't one of them. It's easy to assume it is until you look below the surface of the story.

Totally agree that guy is a dick. Just something I was thinking about this morning

5 minutes to show time.

Ps. Mark Jackson (coach of the warriors) said he wouldnt coach if he was coaching the clippers right now. Liar. He also wants fans to not show up tonight. Sure. He wants an empty stadium to benefit a road victory.... I think he's using this to his advantage to win the series. I hope the Clippers destroy the warriors tonight.

Yeah, he didn't tell the Warrior fans not to show up on Sunday!

Now I read that he had fired his asst. coach for secretly taping team meeting, etc................This story has so many ironies, etc.

that it happened essentially the first day of the only month stretch that many sports fans pay attention to the NBA just adds to the drama.

Looks like that POS is going to be getting kicked out of the NBA soon pending a legal battle I'm sure...

Commissioner Adam Silver bans him for life, fines him the maximum allowed amount of $2.5 million and urges the Board of Governors strongly to vote to force a sale of the team needing a 3/4 league vote for approval
