Gary M
I think we need to lasso an asteroid. http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-chief-says-manned-mission-to-mars--absolutely-necessary--for-human-race-s-survival-162659397.html
JÂy RÛßeÒ
While we're grabbing asteroids, it'd be cool to bring one down to Earth in a controlled way, intact.
dib
I agree, we have to get off this rock.
ExiledInIllinois
What's the odds that we screw up and it lands on us? Can they make a controlled fall on New Jersey? The collateral damage won't be that great... Just knock out Jon Bon Jovi and all will be right in the world! Really... Lasso an asteroid? Can inadvertantly fall back on us? dpberr
I thought NASA was working on Battlestars. It's appaling that we were last on the moon 42 years ago and haven't been back since but...we're still confidentally talking about Mars. The Apollo missions were the high watermark of the US Space program. Yes, we have shuttles and telescopes and space stations but that's all low earth orbit stuff. Maybe one that's a meter or two across. Anything larger would be darn near impossible.
