YoloinOhio Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Are bars open until 2 or 4 in Buffalo? 8 months is going to take forever. I need football. Last call is at 4
Homey D. Clown Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Now that's funny! Anyway, OP, I'm around your age. Here's a summary for you. Strip Club / Casinos - Canadian Side of Niagara Falls Night Club type joints - Chippewa Street - Walking distance from Downtown Hotels More chill bars with lots of live music, friendlier people, fewer meathead doucebags - Allen Street area or Elmwood Area (which are pretty close to each other) has smaller bars (a step above hole in the wall type joints) that I enjoy much more than Chippewa these days. Short cab ride from Downtown (5-10 mins) and there are a few hotels around here too. I'd stay here if I were an out of towner, but that's just me. Wings - don't fall for the Anchor Bar crap, they suck. Duffs is where it's at and you can spend hours there drinking and watching sports as well. Hockey - Sabres games are great even when we suck. There are bars around the arena too that are not bad on game nights. As other's have noted, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT stay near the stadium, you'll be disappointed. Stay near one of the bar districts, you'll be able to stumble home without a cab and there are plenty of damn good places to eat as well. Besides wings, local favorites also include Ted's Hot Dogs (the name of a place), Beef on Weck (a type of sandwich served at a ton of places), Wings obviously, and there are some great pizza places too depending on where you stay (definitely go local over national chains). If you're looking to drop some cash and want steak Buffalo Chop House is where it's at. It's a nice place and pretty expensive but damn good. Have fun. I second that on the Anchor Bar wings. I grew up in Buffalo, and since moved away. I brought some friends into town to show them real chicken wings, and Anchor bar was downright terrible. Their sauce is tasteless too. Duffs for the best wings in Buffalo and it's not even close who #2 is.

GaryPinC Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Last call is at 4 This was probably 15 years ago but 5 of us were out at a bar in the burbs there and when 4 am rolled by and we wanted another round the bartender said LCB guys never check up on a place at 4 am and we could keep drinking till we're done (5:30). Good times!
