packfntk Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Yo guys, long time no talk. Not sure if anyone remembers me but I stopped in a while back. Anyway, me and my buddies have decided to make our annual Packer away trip to Buffalo this year! Looking for any advice you can give as far as hotels near the stadium, good bars, eating places, etc. We are all 31 year old guys, love to drink, hang out in sports bars, but hit up night life the 5 days we will be in town. Any advice is appreciated. Can't wait to check out the Ralph, I respect your great fans and very excited to explore Buffalo!

Book at least half your nights in NF Ontario, Sabre game if they are in town, stay Embassy Suites in Downtown Buffalo night before and game day. 20 minute ride to stadium, walking distance to all the trouble in downtown
Dirtbag Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 yo, if u and da crew luv some dope-ass architecture, i know of some frank lloyd wright places dat be da bomb! also, hit up duff's, son!
CountryCletus Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I have two tickets, row 1, 35 yard line for sale.... that is row one if they DO remove the first two rows as they announced... worst case, still row 3

I fully recommend this approach. Do yourself a favor and go to the sundowner in Niagara.
packfntk Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Dang. There is 3 of us, any idea on a hookup for tix, or should I just plan on ebay as usual? Is there much around the stadium? Hotels? Bars?

Stay 2 nights in NF Canada. So much to do. It's a great place. Casinos as well. I'd also hit up a Sabres game while your here. When it gets closer, we will definately hook you up. But make sure you tailgate at Hammers. Make sure you go to Duffs. More to come later.

Jamie Nails Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 see this makes me so happy..cause i on the wrong side of fitty now...but we see things same way Great minds, my friend. I live in California and have been to buffalo around 15 times in the past 7 years. This is always my exact dance card! Although I'm more Allen town than chip these days.
packfntk Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Just checked out Google Maps, there doesn't appear to be much around the stadium. Should we for sure steer clear of staying closer to the stadium? Is there anywhere between the stadium and the bars, etc? I just ask because one of my favorite things is to head to the stadium and take pictures and stuff. There looks like there are a couple small bars there. Thinking of driving there instead of flying, can we tailgate in the lot or is it by permit only?

I'd recommend hammers lot. It's private, opens early and isn't cracking down on debauchery like the stadium lots have in recent years.

The area around the stadium is residential with some small bars. It is amazing for tailgating and not amazing for night life. You need to get a hotel in Niagara Falls or buffalo if you're looking for night life.
G-Daddy Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Go have drinks and wings at the Bar Bill in East Aurora. Enjoy your visit!!
sodbuster Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Echoing what others have said, park in a private lot, preferably Hammers. Don't waste time in the stadium lots. And if you don't park at Hammers, at least visit them. That place is everything that tailgating should be.
Rockee96 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Please make sure to eat Ted's Hot Dogs. Also, for pizza, go to Gino & Joe's. I flew from LA to Buffalo last year to watch the KC game.
smapdi Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Being around your age, from out of town, I make the trip at least twice a year. I fully recommend this approach. Do yourself a favor and go to the sundowner in Niagara. I second this. Bring your passport so you can hit up Canada a night or two. Their strip clubs are some of the best on the continent! The Sundowner especially.. just absolutely gorgeous girls & the "Canadian ballet" is fully nude. I recommend going on a week night other then Friday for best experience. Stay downtown instead of near Orchard Park. A ton of great nightlife along Chippewa in the city & last call is 4am. Maybe check out Encore one night; great spot to party with tons of beautiful women. Duffs, LA Nova, Gabriels Gate, & The Anchor Bar are all great spots for wings. Your mind will be blown by just how good real wings are I'm Buffalo compared to the rubbish served elsewhere in the country.
ET1062 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Not all Duffs are created equal, go to the Orchard Park location only 5 minutes from the stadium. Avoid the Anchor Bar at all costs, they invented the wing, but went commercial and they pretty much suck. If you do the Niagara Falls Ontario thing as recommended by a few you will all need a passport. Park anywhere you want, there isn't a bad tailgate location at the Ralph, Hammers Lot fills up very fast and isn't the most convenient lot depending on what direction you are coming from. Hampton Inn downtown Buffalo is on Chippewa and a good location to stay and bar hop.
packfntk Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 You guys rock. I will make sure and hit up Duffs in Orchard park. Is it just a wing joint or a bar where we could hang for a bit? Jacked for the tailgating, I hear it's the closest to Lambeau in the league. Think we will hit up Hammers. Thinking we will stay downtown Buffalo for hotel. Is there one strip I should be aware of where we should stay that is near the majority of the bars?
