Always amazes me how you watch an NFL game on TV and so many things are going on that we (fans) are not aware of. We see the big collisions but all kinds of smaller hits are happening on every play. Guys careers can end in the blink of an eye. It's scary what happened to Russell Allen but hopefully he will have a good post NFL life.

Don't know him from the next guy, but it always sucks to see a career ending injury. Hopefully he has something else lined up in life, and I wish him the best of luck.

Eric Wood@EWood708m

Pretty sobering reading on ESPN bottom line that a collision I had with a LB for the Jags gave him a stroke and career over

Just reminds you of how fragile your career in the NFL is and you can't take it for granted

That suxx for Wood. What a mental burden to bear. Not that he did anything dirty, but just knowing you were the player to lay down the hit that caused the stroke. Yeesh!
