rockpile Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 January 23, 1994 The AFC Championship game was played against Joe Montana and the Kansas City Chiefs, in Buffalo. After taking a 20-6 half time lead, the Bills added further insult as Bruce Smith and Jeff Wright made a "Montana Hoagie", causing him to be replaced for the rest of the game by backup Dave Krieg. Krieg drove the Chiefs 90 yards, eating up over seven minutes on the clock, culminating in a Marcus Allen one yard touchdown run. It was too little, too late, as the Bills defense shut out the Chiefs in the fourth quarter, while the offense scored ten more points. The final score: Bills 30, Chiefs 13 The Bills were the first team to win four consecutive AFC Championships, a record that still stands. Will the Eagles break their NFC streak and win this one? By the way, babyrock is making cookies for the game using my buffalo shape cookie cutter.
