Bills Mobile: ON THE CLOCK: Kiko's story - drafting a rookie of the year | http://bit.ly/1hBJ25W http://www.buffalobi...09-aea37aa86909 Outstanding article! I hope it helps give others a sense of the enormous amount of work these scouts put in and how subjective the process is. And also why some of these guys, grown men with 30 plus years on the job, will literally cry tears of joy when one of "their" guys makes it. The odds are against it to begin with, but when you hit on one, there's nothing better. GO BILLS!!!
Fixxxer Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I didn't post on that favorite draft pick thread, but I would have to say Kiko is in my top 5.
offyourocker Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Credit to Chris Browm. Really nice story. Excited for year 2 of Kiko. I really feel this team is headed in the right direction.

FluffHead Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 From bb.com: "I just remember I was excited just to get picked. After it sunk in that it was the Bills I was like, 'Okay Buffalo.' But I didn't even know where the hell that was."

Alonso is really something . The kid is made from good stuff inside and out. proud to have him in a Bills uni . Watching him play and his sideline demeanor are a pleasure. As close to a complete player as i have seen on the Bills in a rather long while . or ever maybe Great article. I love the Wired for Sound video. "This is the worst song ever.", LOL. I want to know what song that is now. That was great. He was smiling the whole time . How can ya not love the kid. and his little noise after the tackles Credit to Chris Browm. Really nice story. Excited for year 2 of Kiko. I really feel this team is headed in the right direction. Me too. And Alonso is a big reason for that. Gives me hopethat the era of the horrible Linebackers is over. Tipster19 Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Whenever I watch the highlights of Kiko all I do is slowly nod my head and smile. Go Bills!
maddenboy Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) I love Kiko. He is my favorite draft pick this century (my Sig from before last year's draft aside). We finally drafted somebody that EVERY team in the league would love to have. But here's the thing from the article that worries me: He said he wanted to be the MLB and would have been disappointed if he hadnt earned it. Now they are moving him outside (in favor of a scrubbish castoff from NE who only got the job 'cause he weights a few more pounds). Will he still be motivated? Will he feel slighted? Will he still be Kiko? When the time comes, I dont want "Kiko see free agency, Kiko eat free agency" Edited April 13, 2014 by maddenboy
Fixxxer Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) Do you see some Kiko in Ryan Shazier? (he visited with the Bills) Or am I far off with the comparison? Edited April 13, 2014 by Fixxxer
YoloinOhio Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Do you see some Kiko in Ryan Shazier? (he visited with the Bills) Or am I far off with the comparison? Shazier is very much like Kiko. In the NFL, he would play WLB in a 4-3. He is extremely explosive and was considered "undersized" until he packed on 15 lbs (without getting slower) after the season. Shazier racks up Tackles and TFL, much like Kiko. Another similarity is that, due to size, they can get blocked easily by a OL if they don't slide by them initially. Also, Shazier is a health nut and is religious about how he eats/drinks/works out... I believe Marrone said the same of Kiko. Shazier would not be a good pick for the Bills IMO because he plays Kiko's position in their upcoming defense and I don't see him as a versatile LB like a Mack due to size. He will be an impact player, I believe, for whatever team takes him and puts him in the right place to make plays. He is like a human cannon. Whenever I watch the highlights of Kiko all I do is slowly nod my head and smile. Go Bills! He's a throwback. Not to make another OSU comparison, but he reminds me in many ways of a young Chris Spielman.
Fixxxer Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 If I could add another Kiko to this/my team I do it, no hesitation, no questions asked.
