They still occasionally find entire, abandoned tanks on that battlefield. The Russians made desperate attempts to drive them across the frozen Neva river (the tank factory in Leningrad maintained production through the siege), and occasionally the tanks fell through the ice. I think they just pulled one out recently.

 

As nasty as the Leningrad campaign was, it wasn't much worse than any other campaign on the Eastern Front. The whole theater was one unbelievable ****-hole.

Wow! Just goes to show you how insignificant we reallly are. How the earth will always cover humans up and spit us out to go on its merry way. This doesn't mean we have to be douchebags and not practice good, sound conservation. Yet, we don't have to leave things pristine. Humans, like it or not are part of the what happens. Good or bad, the earth will be here... Maybe not in its present form to support us, but something will exist. I refuse to look @ the glass half-empty, I see it as half-full.
