Dorkington Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Players can get injured anytime, I'm all for more games to get them more game time experience, it's more valuable than practice,
Mr. WEO Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I'm all for it. Gives EJ an extra week to recover from preseason injury.
Beerball Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I'm all for it. Gives EJ an extra week to recover from preseason injury. That's mean.
GunnerBill Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I dunno... I feel like it will benefit in some positions. In the HOF game EJ will probably play one drive, followed by Thad for the rest of the first quarter followed by Tuel / Dixon / an UDFA. But it's not Quarterback it helps.... it's those positions like safety and O-line and maybe even corner where we still have either questions about the starting job or no obvious depth.
Direhard Fan Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 The more reps the better. Especially the line. It's not about points. It's about being consistant under fire. Better conditioning. Seperate the men from the boys. Have at it. You either love to play or you don't.
Mr. WEO Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 That's mean. Oh come on! Too easy, maybe. Hopefully they will throw in another bye week midseason and in December too....
machine gun kelly Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 good. it doesn't matter of the undrafted guys get hurt. you bring in a ton of people and cut downs don't happen for awhile so you have more time to evaluate 100 players. I like it. You can control playing time for starters.
3rdand12 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Letting rookies and bubble players get their feet wet is important of course. i dont need to see starters risking injury from a roll up or something to affect the season. Ever. Preseason should be the trial by fire for the newbies trying to make the team or a veteran getting back to game speed for a couple plays before the games that count begin
Fixxxer Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Plus, Pittsburgh scrimmage? Was that confirmed? Either way, for the vets it must suck but for younger players could mean extended like in the NFL and more time to show they belong. As for fans, we wait with equal expectation the start of the first preseason game and the end of the last one and please no injuries.
billieve420 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Good this team needs all the work it can get especially the younger players. I think for EJ he needs to make that jump this year. If you don't see any real strides expect another long year.
Chandler#81 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 I'm in the camp that 4 is too many, so I'm definitely against 5 - for injury in non- meaningful games. At least starting this year, there's only 2 cut down dates, so Game 5 will still be mostly 'bubblers' for a last hurrah.
