  1. 1. Five preseason games: good or bad?

    • Good. EJ and all the other youngsters could use all the reps they can get
      40
    • Bad. The last things EJ and all the other youngsters need are more opportunities to get hurt

Good. It's an extra game before any cut-down dates, meaning more opportunity to evaluate the younger, unproven guys (including our QB).

Mixed feelings about preseason games. Starters getting a little time against other starters lets players ease into the season such that they're not expected to be 100% out of the gates. Backups and bubble players playing against the same does little for me though. Do you really learn that much more from watching a scrub play against a scrub than you do watching that same scrub go against your starters in practice? Injury risks are monumental as well. More time in full contact equals more potential injury.

Good. Pre-season is all about finding out about the guys trying to make your team, not about the guys you know about already. The more opportunity you have to evaluate those players in game situations, the better. The impact on EJ's reps won't be that significant with one extra game. Getting hurt is a crapshoot, regardless.

GO BILLS!!!

I think it's good but I think it will have little impact on players like EJ and other starters. I think they'll play as much or as little as they would in 4 games.

It's good. The organization may choose to expose the predicted starters to only 4-6 quarters of live action the entire preseason. The 2nd last preason game vs. Tampa is likely where we will see the most action from starters ( a half?). The rest of the games will be 2nd stringers and reserves/bubble players.

My opinion- if EJ gets hurt in preseason right out of the gate than i will be ready to declare him injury prone and move on.

I don't care how many preseason games there are, I just hope that there is someone dedicated to coaching EJ on how to rifle the ball with some mustard on it, rather than choosing between timidly feathering select passes and running for the sidelines. If we can see him throw with decisiveness and purpose for a series or two and not getting injured I would be happy. Hopefully they use the extra game to decide who gets cut rather than playing starters.

Also I needed to test drive my new, new JK avatar.

For a team as young as this one, I think it's good. They need all the reps they can get to develop some timing and cohesiveness.

In this case that extra game is good for me as well because I am going to it. I know it’s just preseason and the starters will play maybe 1 series but I’ll take what I can get.

The young guys who matter for the future of the team won't be playing much. I expect to see Tuel and either a late rd or UDFA playing most of the HOF game. The 3rd preseason game or what will be the 4th for the Bills is generally the only one where starters play a decent amount of time.

Good, let the kids play.

O-line will have at least 2 new starters (I hope).

New DC.

Questions at safety need resolution.

QB's all need game experience.

Need to figure out the WR rotation.

Good: it gets the second stringers more game time and allows some bubble players to distinguish themselves.

Bad: Waste of time, and brings along the possibility of more injuries. I don't see any benefit in it.

What will we do if Chris Hogan takes a bad tumble?
