boyst Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 http://www.wired.com/2014/03/walmart-big-rig/ Thought this was pretty cool. A big company looking to save some money is not uncommon, but it is still cool. The truck uses a turbine-powered battery-electric hybrid drivetrain, and the combustion engine can run on diesel, natural gas and biodiesel.
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Pretty cool! What's the verdict on what kind of impact it has on the road? Does it tear up roads & bridges just like other heavy trucks? Where does the funding come from to repair and maintain the infrastructure? Less fuel = less taxes = poorer roads/bridges... Right? Do they do impact studies on this? Everything has a consequence.
