oman128 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Think what would happen if the Seneca Nation decided to purchase the Buffalo Bills and built a Stadium on land in Niagara Falls or Silver Creek. I bet it would become a smoking stadium, and it would have a convenience store on the property.
boyst Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I think there would be some irony in this - you know, the native american's owning "Buffalo Bill," the persona that took over their land. It'd be awesome when we played the Redskins.
KGUNBILLS Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Hell, I would buy the Bills if I had been born rich instead of this good looking.
texasabres Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Okay, best idea ever. We could legally gamble in the stadium! Probably bet on all games in NFL. All money from the team is distributed to the members of the Nation, most of whom live in the area and are Bills fans. Casino and hotel built next to stadium. I am loving this idea. Agree that a name change would be in order, but am okay with the Braves.
machine gun kelly Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Can't happen even if they wanted to do it. It's in their by laws an NFL owner cannot have controlling interests in any gambling casinos. It's black and white. They don't want 1922 baseball all over again. Besides, I don't know if the nation has that kind of capital, and if they did, how could they spin off the business as it is on Indian lands? It was a nice thought though.

Jauronimo Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Haven't the indigenous people of this continent been through enough? Robbed of their land and betrayed by the federal government, should they really have to bear the shame of owning the Bills?
nonprophet Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Haven't the indigenous people of this continent been through enough? Robbed of their land and betrayed by the federal government, should they really have to bear the shame of owning the Bills? Now THAT was funny.
oman128 Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Welcome to Seneca Hawk Stadium ! Even if the Bills lose, you can get cheap, gas, booze and cigs on the way home.
mrags Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) Now THAT was funny. and by a poster with the name Jauronimo no less. Edited April 4, 2014 by mrags

PromoTheRobot Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 They can't own the team but can they own the stadium?
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So....your saying the indian burial ground curse would be lifted???!! Sign me up
Mr. WEO Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 There has to be an owner with at least 30% share of the team. No one got that kind of wampum....
TheLynchTrain Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 and by a poster with the name Jauronimo no less. Yup, the avatar is priceless...
PS 56 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Hell, I would buy the Bills if I had been born rich instead of this good looking. Ha, you made me laugh on this otherwise dull morning...
CodeMonkey Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 They can't own the team but can they own the stadium? I don't see why not. A domed stadium that could also be used for concerts year round with an attached hotel-casino. Git er done!

The one big rub I can see is stadium-generated revenue. I can't see the Bills passing that up and I can't see anyone building a stadium letting that go.

Isn't that part of the whole revenue sharing thing along with parking where home team gets 60% and visitors 40%?
