Beerball Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Older brother (Darick) is class of 2015, younger brother (Darnay) is class of 2017. http://azstarnet.com...19bb2963f4.html
zevo Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 At first I thought this was about Da'rick Rogers...and how that timeline didn't make sense.
cantankerous Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Nice thread title, especially for a member of the moderator Gestapo.
Beerball Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Nice thread title, especially for a member of the moderator Gestapo. Actually just noticed that myself, but thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt.
Dennis in NC Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 How can a kid commit for 2017? That seems premature for both parties.
Max997 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 How can a kid commit for 2017? That seems premature for both parties. Happens all the time but they can change their minds so I really don't get the point
machine gun kelly Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Do you guys remember the time DaRick Holmes took 4 guys on his back and just didn't go down. He was such a beast in his day. He was a favorite of mine. Thanks for sharing.
Frez Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 I also remember Holmes getting popped by Ken Norton Jr.(?) on the goal line in SF and knocking the ball loose with the 49ers taking it to the house after that. Holmes was one of my favorite players back then.
oman128 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 I used to work at a Car Dealer in Jamestown, Darrick was there often and did Autograph signings, photos for our customers.
C.Biscuit97 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I also remember Holmes getting popped by Ken Norton Jr.(?) on the goal line in SF and knocking the ball loose with the 49ers taking it to the house after that. Holmes was one of my favorite players back then. Ugh. I remember that play. Sums up the last 14 years quite well. But congrats to Holmes.
vegas55 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I hope his boys turn out to be better citizens than their loser dad http://goingconcern.com/2010/3/former-nfl-player-avoids-prison-for-tax-fraud
VADC Bills Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I remember the play against the 49ers. It was an illegal helmet to helmet hit in Chuck Cecil fashion. Not sure if they had outlawed that type of hit yet. I was a Holmes fan as well.
Pete Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I think it was Gary Plummer with that hit. Yeah that was brutal. But if I remember the play right it was clean and perfectly timed. Holmes leaped the pile and Plummer met him in the air. I was thinking that you don't see players dive over the line for the score anymore. Rob Riddick was the best at that
Shamrock Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I remember a chop block he gave in the 1995 win v Cleveland, that's how uncommon (to my recollection) that play is. BTW, was it Justin Armour who had a great game that night? We beat Belicheat then I think Pepper had moved on as well.
