Kirby Jackson Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 It's not about whether I like him or not. His game has holes from an NFL perspective. People are losing their minds over this guy like he's a sure thing and he simply is not. None of these QBs are without holes. At this point I actually think that he has the fewest holes. Make no mistake there is no one as safe as Andrew Luck in this draft. However, the Bills drafted a guy in the 1st last year that has more questions now than any of the 3 that will go in the 1st this year. He has 10 starts under his belt. I guess that we just disagree, no big deal.

Donald Duck Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Bailing out of the pocket too early does. For example, Aaron Rodgers has great wheels but he reads defenses thoroughly before he tries to make plays with his legs. He is a GREAT NFL QB. Its a real easy call to make as a spectator with a birds eye view to say signal caller bailed out of the pocket early on any particular play, It takes looking at the play over again in the film room to really see what happened, (by coaches) and even then, only the QB knows what he was seeing at his eye level and what obstacles are blocking his throwing lane, JF uses the abrupt decision to run on a dime to catch the D off guard...

Okay. He's a sure fire NFL Hall of Famer. This is really reminding me of the Tebow fanboy worship from a couple of years ago where his supporters just could not see or would not acknowledge his flaws. Edited March 29, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz

FluffHead Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Okay. He's a sure fire NFL Hall of Famer. How do you feel he compares with Manuel? Okay. He's a sure fire NFL Hall of Famer. This is really reminding me of the Tebow fanboy worship from a couple of years ago where his supporters just could not see or would not acknowledge his flaws. This makes me think you never watched John Pigskin play. He throws the ball really well, including better than our current QB.

26CornerBlitz Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 How do you feel he compares with Manuel? Manuel has the physical, mental and emotional makeup that is ideal for a QB. Whether he puts all of that together to be successful remains a big ? Manziel and Manuel are different kinds of QBs. EJ is a passer 1st while Manziel is a runner 1st who got away with quite a bit of undisciplined play at the NCAA level.

Maybe his coach wanted JF to play the way he did... Edited March 29, 2014 by dog14787

EJ is a passer 1st while Manziel is a runner 1st who got away with quite a bit of undisciplined play at the NCAA level. I'll give my opinion on the two players, obviously some will disagree but that's what this place is for. You say manziel is a runner first but in my opinion his arm is on par with EJ and his accuracy is better. Manziel is a much more natural thrower in my opinion. If he is a runner first but still throws it better than Manuel, what does that say about EJ? Manziel is the more instinctive runner and has better quickness and speed. EJ is obviously bigger. Personally I think the attitude/maturity thing is overrated. This town could use a kid with some confidence.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 without being his coach don't you think undisciplined is a bit speculative? Maybe his coach wanted JF to play the way he did... LSU exposed JF as Johnny Flameout. They way he played at A&M will not work in the NFL long term.
Beerball Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 If they're trading up to #1 it's for Clowney or Mack IMO. If they're trading up to #1 it's for Johnny Billsball or Clowney IMO.

For an NFL QB, that is Huge IMO.
FluffHead Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I think we took this baby off the tracks. This was originally a Ramses Barden thread, haha

26CornerBlitz Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Johnny Billsball, haha, I love it! Johnny Beelzebub?

If the question is "would you rather Johnny or EJ" it's Johnny 100 times out of 100. There is not 1 thing on the football field that I think that EJ does better than Johnny. He is bigger but ended up with 3 (I lost track) knee surgeries last year. What good is size of you can't stay healthy? I didn't think that Johnny was a realistic possibility but I would think that he is indeed the target if they were to trade up with Houston.
Beerball Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Okay, back on track....Barden wore #13 with the Giants. some people think that 13 is an unlucky number
