plenzmd1 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 First, i am a guy that never, in any sport, has a "2nd team". If i have a team i root for passionately, i pretty much hate ever other team in that sport . Having said that, i occasionally find myself rooting for other players because of something they did off the field, how they carry themselves on the field, or a combination of both.. Brandon Marshall is that guy for me right now. I think it takes a ton of courage for him to acknowledge his mental illness , and actively speak about and raise awareness on the subject. I loved last year when he wore the green shoes, even when he knew he would get fined, to elevate that cause. I have been rooting for him for a couple of years now. http://thinkprogress.org/sports/2013/10/17/2795711/nfl-fines-brandon-marshall-10500-green-mental-health-awareness-shoes/ And the guy just seems like the ultimate team mate. I hope the Bears take care of this guy when its time http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/28/brandon-marshall-has-no-intention-to-leave-chicago/ Anyway, was curious if other folks out there have some other guys they like..(and not just for fantasy reasons)
Hazed and Amuzed Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Richard Sherman. Love his attitude. The guy is more intelligent than 90% of his detractors and I love how he gets under their skin as though what he does affects them.
IDBillzFan Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I remain a fan of Drew Brees for genuinely embracing the city of New Orleans. He's smart, charitable, articulate and does a great job representing the game and the players. He is, to NO, what Kelly is to Buffalo. Peyton Manning is also on my list. Regardless of the last SB, the dude plays at a level that at times is like watching BB King play Lucille (the guitar, not the song, you dumbasses). Add to this his professionalism, leadership and sense of humor, and it's hard not to like him.. Lastly, his brother Eli is on my list for one reason and one reason only.
johnwalter Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 tom brady (as much as it hurts to say it) in the running: luke kuechly, andrew luck, aaron rodgers, jacoby jones, marshawn lynch,
Mark80 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Russell Wilson. What he does off the field is just as, if not more impressive than what he does on the field. A dedicated leader, works harder than everyone, and gives a ton of time and effort to his community. A public relations dreamboat. Conversely, a potential PR nightmare that I love is Marshawn. Sports are entertainment, and he is flat out entertaining to watch on the field. Love his sideline antics and that Predator looking smile. Edited March 28, 2014 by Mark80
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Peyton of course but I'm really starting to like Eddie Lacy CBF

plenzmd1 Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Funny, i really dislike Manning. Not sure why, but man do i root against him. The AFC championship with games him Vs. Brady..with one of them winning..the ultimate "no Exit" for me. And Russell is tough for me. So many people here in Richmond jumped on his bandwagon. I want him to do well, but i don't want all these newbie Seahawk fans to go around like "their" team won the Super Bowl. And I am talking the adults here, i get the kids that went to school with him You may want to inspect Brandon Marshall's background a little more before you make him out to be a hero for wearing Green shoes. http://www.cbssports...eyond-troubling http://espn.go.com/b...-field-problems Marshall beat women. I don't care if you're bi-polar thats not an excuse. I was for sure who wanted to see Marshall run out of the NFL 3 years back. I believe his medication and therapy is working. I do believe people can change. I root for guys like him that have the courage to stand up on a subject that I would be reluctant to discuss.
Security Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Julio Jones......for about Marshawn too! Edited March 28, 2014 by Security
sodbuster Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Russell Wilson. I was so disappointed when he didn't end up here. I'm a short guy, so that might have something to do with it. Used to be Ray Lewis. That guy was a maniac.
Captain Hindsight Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I love watching Brees. He is so fluid and just a pure passer. Adrian Peterson is so strong and just runs over people. Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson too. Both just an amazing talents It was also great to see Joique Bell play well in Detroit. Liked him a lot when he was here and if we didn't have Fred and CJ he might have stayed
Steve O Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Always thought Arthur Moats was a class act. Wish him well with the Steelers.
KOKBILLS Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Cam Newton... Just like him...Plus...He helped me win two different FF leagues over these past two seasons...
billsgpr88 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 polamalu... In his prime, he was the most exciting defensive player I've ever seen
kickedface Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 clay matthews i love watching good pass rushers/blitzing lb's
Buftex Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 There have been guys in the past that I really liked (Favre, Elway)...but not so much anymore. Not sure why. I really can't think of any player I really like from another team. I suppose Cam Newton or P Manning would be the closest thing... but it is normally because, whenever he (Manning) is in a big game, I can't stand the opponant.
C.Biscuit97 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I love Jimmy Graham. He's a beast, made himself from a backup college basketball player into the best TE in football, and has a great back story.
Bocephuz Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Roethlisberger..... underrated, tough, can improvise with the best of em. I have a vivid image of him with a busted twisted nose on the sidelines in a Monday night Ravens game... a game which he finished
