plenzmd1 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Update? she is still going to slow in the left hand lane
bbb Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 And, buy 25 different types of lottery tickets at the convenient store. If the dicktard died, then he would have gotten more than he deserved. And the girl would have been exactly 0.0000 % responsible. And, you would be 100% wrong.
Gugny Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 And, buy 25 different types of lottery tickets at the convenient store. And, you would be 100% wrong. I would be wrong about what? Did she force him to pass her in a rage, like a complete ass, and get into an accident? No. As I stated earlier ... people (wrong as it may be) drive too slowly in the left hand land all day, every day. People (thank God) do not always respond like that idiot did.

There's no way she's 0% at fault. She was an idiot.
Gugny Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 There's no way she's 0% at fault. She was an idiot. She was an idiot, why? She was - by all accounts - doing the speed limit in crappy driving conditions. She was fearful of accelerating too much to pass the big truck - which happens to a lot of drivers in inclement weather. Should she have avoided the left lane altogether? Probably. But her only mistake was that ... being in the left lane. If that makes her an idiot in your eyes, that's fine. I do believe she was at fault for that (and only that). But her being in that lane did nothing to cause that man's accident. Zero. And her filming the entire thing had absolutely nothing to do with anything.
Beerball Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 I don't watch much local or even national or cable news - but I had it on last week watching about Jim Kelly..........And, then this stupid story came on. The two anchors were yakking it up about the karma angle, too. How the !@#$ did this stupid thing make it all over? Do they put viral videos on the news all the time now? I blame myself.

Ridiculous that you can claim that. Not only was she in the left hand lane, he wasn't even tailgating that close. I've done closer when I've been pissed at aholes like that...........And, then she ups the ante with the filming.
Gugny Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 are you happy now? Happy as a bull in Lexington, NC. That is totally wrong. Ridiculous that you can claim that. Not only was she in the left hand lane, he wasn't even tailgating that close. I've done closer when I've been pissed at aholes like that...........And, then she ups the ante with the filming. He was tailgating her VERY closely, are you kidding me? The guy was in the wrong. The guy caused his own accident. To me, it's really that simple.

You will never get it in to people's head that they are accountable and responsible for their own actions. It is always somebody else's fault for many. People have a hard time understanding what self-control means and that one's lack of self-control brings consequences. You can pound it into their head all day, they just won't get it. It is all about the individual. How dare someone drive in any lane doing the speed limit or slightly under while I want to break the law and drive much faster! It is all about me doing what I want to do @ the moment. It isn't about accepting what's good for the group. Just take a look around, the selfish, immature, and adolescent behavior seeps into every aspect of our lives. And this dude , with his repugnant actions showed exactly what he thought of anybody who gets in his way. Fortunately, he payed dearly for his actions. Now, living the way he does in the world, he and only he has to accept blame for his actions. We all want to act as individuals, but when something goes wrong we want to tie or blame others for our troubles. One can't have it both ways.

It's exactly that mentality that caused the accident. Maybe now this thread can finally be put to rest.
NDBUFFCUSEFAN Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 The left lane is the passing lane, people don't get to arbitrarily determine what speed is safe. I routinely go 85mph on the freeways because I know how to drive and if some !@#$ is too scared to speed they should stay in the right lane where they won't bother anyone.

I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with you. By your logic, she can say that she routinely goes 40mph because she likes to feel safe and if some !@#$ is too impatient to wait to safely pass, they should look further ahead.
NDBUFFCUSEFAN Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If she doesn't feel comfortable driving the speed limit then she shouldn't be driving.
Gugny Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) If she doesn't feel comfortable driving the speed limit then she shouldn't be driving. If one can't obey the speed limit, should one not drive? Or is that just or those who choose to drive less than the speed limit? Edited April 16, 2014 by Gugny
NDBUFFCUSEFAN Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If you cannot keep up with the flow of traffic you move over, is this really a difficult concept to comprehend? I am not advocating driving recklessly but if the conditions are manageable I don't need some idiot doing the speed limit in the fast lane.

I think we're more on the same page as you might think. -- the "is this really a difficult concept to comprehend" part is really unnecessary -- people who drive too fast piss off others. People who drive too slowly piss off others. People who drive the speed limit piss off others. This is about how this one idiot chose to react to a slow driver in the left lane. He reacted poorly and he got exactly what he deserved.

I encounter tons of awful drivers and it really has taken it's toll on my patience. Luckily the girl leaves the service in June and no more almost weekly drives.

This is the mentality we are dealing with. Incredible how the truth comes out!
