3rdnlng
The Huffington Post is deliberately misrepresenting the intentions of the ENFORCE the law act (H.R. 4138) and you are being led right along with a ring through your nose. This proposed law is about the administration choosing what laws it enforces. It's about making Obama live up to his sworn duty. It's about the Constitution and separation of powers. Your manual, The Huffington Post has chosen to pick the sensational and miss the whole point of the law's intentions. Even several congressmen who support the legalization of weed voted for this law because they feel that the executive branch shouldn't pick and choose what laws it enforces. Of course this law isn't going anywhere in the Senate where Harry Reid won't let anything come to a vote for fear of making his minions take a stand. States rights has nothing to do with this you moron. Nice way for the HP to totally miss the point and for you to follow along blindly.

Oh bull, they just want to harass more people and throw more people in jail. Fascists. So much for personal responsibility. If Obama was attempting to more strictly enforce tax laws the would be a riot in the house.

If Obama was attempting to more strictly enforce tax laws the would be a riot in the house. Nobody is asking Obama to more strictly enforce any laws. All they are doing is insisting that he live up to his sworn duty and follow the Constitution. You should probably read the article you posted. It briefly mentions immigration and healthcare as areas that Obama has either changed the law by fiat or has refused to enforce the law. How could you be this lacking of insight? If Obama was attempting to more strictly enforce tax laws the would be a riot in the house. Actually, they want to deport more people. The article is grossly and willfully misleading. This should have no effect on states legalizing marijuana. The idiots who think it does need to brush up on the applicable law.

Koko78
Koko! Did you write this while looking in the mirror or something? Aren't you the light weight of light weights around here? Anyway, glad to meet you So, are you going to address the criticism that the article is misleading, or are you going to stick to your typical stupidity? Well, I suppose this is more of a rhetorical question, since we all know you're incapable of intelligent discussion or backing up your nonsense. 3rdnlng
Koko! Did you write this while looking in the mirror or something? Aren't you the light weight of light weights around here? Anyway, glad to meet you So, you posted a terrible article that missed the whole point of the legislation. You then mischaracterized the article and tried to claim it was about states rights while at the same time stating that the republicans were just trying to harrass people and put them in jail. After that your comments in this thread went downhill. You're special.
DC Tom
Or smoke less pot. But I don't recommend that. Read the applicable laws. Or just ask yourself how often the DEA gets involved in cases of simple possession.

Tiberius
Actually, they want to deport more people. The article is grossly and willfully misleading. This should have no effect on states legalizing marijuana. The idiots who think it does need to brush up on the applicable law. Don't worry, your glue sniffing won't be punished: But a committee report submitted by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), one of the three congressmen who introduced the bill, suggested Republicans would also use the proposed law to try to force Obama to crack down on marijuana in states that have legalized its possession and sale. The report stated that Obama was not faithfully executing federal law by allowing states to legalize marijuana for recreational and medical use. The federal Controlled Substances Act lists marijuana as a Schedule I substance, the most prohibited classification, which is reserved for dangerous drugs with no medical value. Not enforcing federal drug laws in states that have legalized marijuana “infringes on Congress’s lawmaking authority,” the report said. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who introduced the bill with Goodlatte, has criticized Obama for “dispensing” with federal laws related to immigration, marijuana, and mandatory minimum sentences. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/03/14/rand-paul-backs-bill-that-could-lead-to-crack-down-on-states-where-voters-legalized-weed/ Isn't this a statist thing? Have the Tea Party shown they are naked power grabbers? Deporting, imprisonisng and harassing Americans? Wow, and that states rights thing... So, are you going to address the criticism that the article is misleading, or are you going to stick to your typical stupidity? Well, I suppose this is more of a rhetorical question, since we all know you're incapable of intelligent discussion or backing up your nonsense. Actually, I just backed up my point stupid. Republicans are going after stronger enforcement of drug laws in states that are basically not seeing enforcement, Rand Paul is even backing this, good old Libertarian he is, lol Read the applicable laws. Or just ask yourself how often the DEA gets involved in cases of simple possession. Are you saying that they didn't bust places that were doing business that was legal under state law?? Deranged Rhino
Read the applicable laws. Or just ask yourself how often the DEA gets involved in cases of simple possession. I have, at least in California. I haven't looked at any federal statutes or laws in a decade at least on that subject. Since I'm white, the chances of me being harassed for possession is virtually nil. Hell, even in NYC during the peak of stop and frisk I could move around the city while carrying without much trouble.
