No one hurt. It was just before worked stopped for the day. Welding was going on in the area. It was about a third of a mile from first base at the ballpark

The area was originally the rail yard for the docks. Recently it was parking lots for AT&T park. About 10 years ago UCSF started building a Biomed campus in the area. They are making the area retail shops on the first floor with condos above. One or two buildings were done and occupied. Before they started on the area, they put in a high pressure system for fire fighting underground. They mayor said that what kept the fire to the one building. An adjacent occupied residential building had about 30 windows broken from the intense heat, but the firemen put a curtain of water on that one to prevent the spread.

I didn't catch what ignited it. Was it the welding?
