Doc Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Didn't think the Pats would pay the going rate for a guy like Revis. Color me surprised. But it's telling, and they essentially traded one Pro Bowl CB for another.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Kind of a weird deal for Revis. Seems like he could have cashed in for a ton more money and long-term security. I don't think he needs a one-year audition to get the $20-$30m guaranteed that other top defenders are getting.
YoloinOhio Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Revis is way better than talib fwiw Talib is more versatile, but Revis is more polished in man coverage. JMO.
FluffHead Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 This is a one year band aid for the pats. It is a hell of a band aid but you know Revis is going to the highest bidder next offseason
Doc Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 This is a one year band aid for the pats. It is a hell of a band aid but you know Revis is going to the highest bidder next offseason Dumb move on his part. He should have gone to the highest bidder on a long term contract this off-season. The Pats aren't winning the SB this season and if he gets injured again...
Bills Fan in Beantown Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Great. You're telling me we couldn't pony up $12 million for one year? Russ is cheap. Same ol Bills. What makes you think Revis would agree to come here?
RealityCheck Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Brady, Brees, and Brady are QBs who's biological clocks are ticking. These teams have an ever closing window to capitalize on 3 of the best QBs of this generation. Major football legacies are on the line.
Big Turk Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Great, now Stevie gets to school him two times a year again. He can't cover Johnson, who cares about him
sodbuster Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Not scared at all. It's like when we signed TO. The curtain is closing. Soon.
Maury Ballstein Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 So revis will take a one year deal without the franchise tag. Byrd is a mofo.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Dumb move on his part. He should have gone to the highest bidder on a long term contract this off-season. The Pats aren't winning the SB this season and if he gets injured again... I seriously don't understand this. He has just assumed a ton of unnecessary risk. Talib just got a $57 m contract with $26 m in guaranteed money, and is not even close to the same player Revis is.
GoBillsDB Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Why do Bills fans talk like Stevie owns Revis. Stevie averages like 70 yards a game against him. Better than most against Revis, but is that really owning a guy? Revis is basically so good that a WR who can put together a few average games against him "owns" him. This signing sucks any way you look at it. I hate the fuggin Pats with irrational intensity. This makes it harder to beat them. Something the Bills have done twice in Tom Brady's career.
FireChan Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 What makes you think Revis would agree to come here? WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH
missthe kgun Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 No way Revis would come to the Bills, no matter how much we offered. Go Bills!!!
QB Bills Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Everybody wants to play for them. Why they don't get Brady some receivers is beyond me. Not too concerned with this signing. They're likely gonna beat us twice again next year with or without him anyway.
The Big Cat Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Whoopty ****. The guy was nothing without Pettine. I said it.
The Big Cat Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Also, we said the same !@#$ing thing after Haynesworth. After Chad Ochocinco.
BillsVet Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) The rich get richer. It's nice the Bills are finally adding veteran depth instead of relying on UDFA's, late round picks, street FA's, and waiver wire pickups, but is it enough to get them from mediocre to passable? Not when your opponents can make moves like this. Ironically, NFLN is showing Belichick's a football life right now. Edited March 13, 2014 by BillsVet
