Before he died, 84-year-old Archie Bennitz told his son to use his newspaper death notice to blast the league commissioner and the player's union leader.

 

Bennitz's death notice in the Ottawa Citizen read: "He asked that Mr. [Gary] Bettman and Mr. [bob] Goodenow know that they are skunks for denying him the pleasure of watching the NHL on television this year.
