The Poojer Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I hope social media can help identify this piece of garbage like they helped ID the swiss cheese pervert a few weeks back. This disgusts me to no end. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/dncrime/Video-of-nearly-unconscious-woman-with-child-on-SEPTA-catches-attention-of-police-DHS.html
mead107 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 WOW, is it because of the live video that in today's world that makes it seem like more happens and just as much happened years ago but was missed?
The Poojer Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 around here they call that the North Philly Dip...usually brought on by Heroin or Oxy-like drugs
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 WOW, is it because of the live video that in today's world that makes it seem like more happens and just as much happened years ago but was missed? Exactly. Yes, I am disgusted too. Though, I am torn on what needs to be done in this situation, if anything needs to be done @ all. There is sometimes hope for the child even though we think that there isn't. I will leave it @ that.
Maury Ballstein Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 around here they call that the North Philly Dip...usually brought on by Heroin or Oxy-like drugs North Philly Dip sounds like a nice sandwich.
Maury Ballstein Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Wonder how long until they identify and try to help this woman. The philly/nj/baltimore heroin issue isn't a pretty sight.
The Poojer Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 they may already know who she is, i have read reports where on her facebook page she has indicated that she may have had an addiction problem in the past but has 'been clean' for a couple/few years, haven't seen anyone release a potential name yet though Wonder how long until they identify and try to help this woman. The philly/nj/baltimore heroin issue isn't a pretty sight.
Chef Jim Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Wonder how long until they identify and try to help this woman. The philly/nj/baltimore heroin issue isn't a pretty sight. Heroin is an issue pretty much everywhere right now.
Gugny Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Heroin is a huge issue everywhere. And it all starts with Robitussin. Way before pot comes into the mix.
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Heroin is an issue pretty much everywhere right now. I was reading how it is a problem in VT. Rural VT... Heck the whole state is rural! I guess that is where the hippy parents landed in the 1970's to raise their families! ;-) ;-)
Pete Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 So often I open a thread like this hoping to read about classy Philadelphians. Why does this board promote garbage? Does posting stuff like that guy having sex with his pitbull make you feel better about yourself?
The Poojer Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 posting it because there are people on this board that live in the area and hoping that enough sharing of this story helps identify this person and help the kids involved...kind of like i stated in my post So often I open a thread like this hoping to read about classy Philadelphians. Maury Ballstein Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Haven't heard much Heroin news in my area of Virginia. Maybe I'm naive to it.

mrags Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 All good Mrags...hope It never comes close to me or anyone I know. being in the business I'm in, I see what comes off the streets every day. It's not just you, many people are naive about a lot of things. Criminal acts being the worst. I can spot a criminal when I see one. Boeing out in public, I see it a lot. People are oblivious to the people that walk among us every day.

One of my favorite books I have read recently is titled "what cops know". The author interviews Chicago police who offer their insight on vice, gangs, drugs, organized crime, etc. One office speaks of when he first started that he was cruising with a seasoned cop, and he spots someone on street, and immediately pulls over and shakes them down- and finding a gun. The rookie asked "how did you know? "Its just something you learn". Twenty years later, that rookie became a seasoned cop and was riding around with a rookie. Well he spots someone on the street and immediate shakes them down- finding a gun. "how did you know?"
