mrags Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Just got the text. A big FU to Byrd if you ask me. Shows what players get when they are patient and reasonable.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Brandon says that it is independent of other negotiations (read: Byrd). Me thinks perhaps not.
sodbuster Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 AW showed a lot this year, and he deserves it. This is a big deal, especially if we don't have Byrd going forward.
stony Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Just got the text. A big FU to Byrd if you ask me. Shows what players get when they are patient and reasonable. These two situations couldn't be more different from one another.
Kirby Jackson Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 That's a good move. He is a young player that appeared to find his way last year. This to me ensures that Byrd is gone for sure (not that I expected him to be back).
boyst Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Good news. Now we need to extend A-aron Williams too ESPN - Bills sign DB Aaron Williams to contract extension; tied for team lead with 4 interceptions last season Edited March 5, 2014 by jboyst62
papazoid Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 another nail in the Byrd coffin. as if more are needed.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Finally being proactive for a change. They have been learning the hard way what happens when you wait too long to lock up your young talent...
d_wag Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 fantastic news! let's see dareus and glenn next please - they've earned big deals and will only get more expensive/less willing to sign as they get closer to free agency
BillnutinHouston Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Great move - extend before he hits peak market value.
707BillsFan Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia 20s According to @MikeGarafolo, it's a 4-year, $26 million extension. Average of $6.5 million per year.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Chris Brown @ChrisBrownBills 33s Aaron: "If Jairus comes back that'd be the best thing ever. Our chemistry is great, but if he doesn't come back best of luck to him." #Bills It's a very good move to sign him now. Good move PR wise when they just lost Byrd but to me it means there is very, very little chance of signing Byrd. Not that I thought they were going to after yesterday. Possible; highly unlikely.
papazoid Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Wonder what the contract numbers are... my guess, same as mckelvin - 4 yrs / 17 mil
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Wonder what the contract numbers are... 6 years $60 Million $30M guaranteed lol CBF
