KD in CA Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 i don't know where Carolyn was, but ole Bryn seemed to really enjoy the "reward"!!! 252651 He looked like a midget standing next to those models! Erin looked hot....she's my favorite. The one who got fired deserved it.
KRC Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 The one who got fired deserved it. 252665 You noticed that through the entire task she wanted to take ownership for everything. Once they lost, she changed to "It's not my fault. I can't be held responsible." Yeah, nice leadership there. "I want to take credit when things are going well, but absolve myself of all responsibility when things go wrong."
OnTheRocks Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 i feld bad for her. She did a nice job of smoothing over the differences between the two that were at each others throats. She did however blow it for the exact reasons you state. Their painting was WAY better than Magna Corps. However....the guy from Magna did a GREAT job of getting his own little "Focus Group" from off the street corner.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Their painting was WAY better than Magna Corps. However....the guy from Magna did a GREAT job of getting his own little "Focus Group" from off the street corner. Their painting was better from an aesthetic standpoint, but didn't serve the purpose it was meant to serve, i.e. selling the product. It was more a piece of art than an advertisement. Even Trump got out of his car and remarked how good it looked while he just passed by Magna's painting, and that's when I knew that NW was going to lose.

I figured they'd all just throw the ditzy blonde under the bus, but the other guy told it straight out about how the whole thing was the project leader's idea from start to finish. Rocks -- good point. Getting those kids on the street to help out Magna was a great idea. They provided the ideas for most of the key features of the mural.
theNose76 Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Decent episode tonight. I've caught all but 2 or 3 of the episodes so far, really like the tuesday repeat on CNBC since I sometimes am doing other things Thursday nights. And this is the first season I've watched. Definitely rooting for the college grads as I will graduate college myself in 2 months. I thought Audrey would be gone last weak, and knew she'd be gone this week after the blow up early on. I coudn't belive she wanted to be PM. And I gotta say although he's terrible for the jobs, John is great on TV. He rips on everyone it seems, although not sure who he will be aimed at now. I don't really agree with George's fill-in since the fact that she's an immature 22 yr old (and I am 22 yrs old so I should know lol) kills her. It really seems like Magna has caught a groove the last 2 weeks that they nearly had 2 weeks ago when Michael was fired. The 5 seem to work pretty well. And Audrey, while hot, just didn't work on NW. It was hilarous to see Angie "turn" on her after their Survivor-like alliance. Next week's show seems to be a little more intense, espcially with the merger. Side note - I got Trump's autograph in the early 90's at a Jim Kelly celebrity baseball game at Pilot Field (called Stargaze or something like that) - actually got it on a 1 dollar bill ironically, but I have no idea where it is now. He flew in on his helicopter - love that thing. Yes, he even had it 10 years ago when he could probably barely afford it.
Just Jack Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 I've missed the last couple episodes so last night I was wondering what happened to Net Worth. The first few episodes they seemed to be doing well, now they are falling apart. It's defintely time for the reshuffle of players next week.

They had no choice but to dump Audrey last night (even if everyone agreed that she was hot ). But John was a prick last night, he was undermining her from the start and it almost cost him.
stevestojan Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 If that B word told everyone how "beautiful" she was one more time, I felt like I was gonna go find her and kick her in that jaw of hers and maybe straighten out the awful underbite she had... what a B word. And she was so dumb... she couldn't even get cliches right "He can talk the talk, but he can't walk it!".. Walk what? The talk? or the Walk? Dumb B word.

That's not what she said, but it made about as much sense. I wish I hadn't deleted it from the TiVo. My wife and I both looked at each other like, "What the hell is she talking about?" It was also sickening when she said, "Mr. Trump said I was beautiful, and that's all that really matters." So it's ok (and appreciated) when anybody but John says she's attractive. Nice. I also don't think John was trying to undermine her. He called and said, "Do you want me to work on X or Y?" and she refused to answer. If I go to my manager and ask him which project I should be working on, it's his responsibility to give me a straight answer. She was trying to frame him and he called her out on it. CW

I can't believe john didn't mention that phone call in the board room. "What do you want me to do?" "Decide for yourself"... WHAT? She's the "boss"... Also thought it was hilarious that the one guy was chewing tobacco while dressed like a clown and handing out golf clubs to kids.

It seemed like she was trying to get the others to hang themselves if they lost, by un-Project Managing them. And I also rolled my eyes at the "Trump said I was beautiful" thing. There, I did it again!
KRC Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 It was also sickening when she said, "Mr. Trump said I was beautiful, and that's all that really matters." 262393 It really pisses me off. Women work their azzes of to be treated equally, to fight to be accepted for their qualifications instead of their looks and to gain respect in the workplace. Then you get an idiot like this who on the one hand cries about how hard she had to work to get where she is only to throw all that away on comments like "well, at least Mr. Trump thought I was beautiful, and that is what matters." NO, what matters is if he thought you were a good leader. She had no ability to lead. As was mentioned previously, she was only looking to get people to hang themselves by not doing their jobs. Sorry, but scapegoat managing really ticks me off. It all gets back to personal accountability. She wanted to lead to prove that she can do it. Obviously, she proved that she CANNOT do it.

Like I said before, I don't think John should win, but he is definitely the best one for the show. And yea, Greg I think the tobacco guy, that was pretty funny. Looked like a cliche bad movie character.

I remember the week he was the PL he said in the opening meeting as they were planning the task....and ideas were being thrown around, he said,.... ".....listen, I want you to tell me this is a bad idea now....not when we get in the board room." Bryn comes accross a little hoaky sometimes but he has done a good job in all facets of working and managing....in both wins and losses.

She absolutely refused to make decisions. Hell, she couldn't even figure out what needed to be done in order to assign tasks. It was nice to see Caroline back.
theNose76 Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 in her defense, she actually said "at least mr. trump said I was beatiful". that's not as bad as your quote.John refused at first to put on the clown suit. 262879 Agree with you here - but I think the original comment was pointed at the phone call earlier in the show when Audrey was talking to John and Greg from the costume store and insisted that they make their own decision about what to do - build the greens or promote. Their job was not to pick which one (although I didn't really understand the fact that they had both of these to do) but to do the task that was chosen for them by PM IMO. And he was right to call her on that - she was deliberate in not "assigning" them tasks to cover herself in the near future.
KD in CA Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 No surprise last night. John has had it coming for a while. His ideas are usually lame and he doesn't listen to anyone else. It was funny watching the girls get pissed as he kept cutting them off and making 'just look hot' comments. Erin (my favorite) looked better than ever.
OnTheRocks Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 in the boardroom,...i thought carolyn was going to get up and kick that one guys arse.....he kept raising his voice at her.
